    • A dock for connecting a smartphone to a display and peripherals is disclosed. The dock uses a single connector to transfer audio/video data to a display and input-output data and to establish a wireless link with peripherals. The dock has a controller with a switch, a wireless communication module, a USB hub, a relay, a first connector, an audio/video (AV) converter and a second connector. The relay normally connects AV data from the smartphone to the AV converter. The controller switches the relay while the switch is being operated, and then the controller links the USB hub, the first connector and the wireless communication module, and the wireless communication module establishes the wireless link with the smartphone.

    • The invention provides a method for directly using input devices of a personal computer to operate a mobile device connected thereto. The method includes: a) designating a specific USB port in the personal computer; b) detecting whether the mobile device is connected to the specific USB port; c) checking whether the mobile device has been installed with a first driver; d) installing the first driver to the mobile device; e) sending a command to the mobile device to make it serve as a GOOGLE accessory device; f) installing a second driver in the personal computer for the mobile device as a GOOGLE accessory device; g) transferring a control right of an input device of the personal computer to the mobile device; h) converting signals of the input device into a format compatible with the mobile device; and i) sending the converted signals to the mobile device.

    • An I/O module such as a card reader module for connecting a computer having a first and second USB port is disclosed. The I/O module includes an I/O controller connecting the first USB port, a charging controller connecting the second USB port and a third USB port connecting the charging controller. The I/O controller determines what a power state of the computer is according to communication between the first USB port and the I/O controller and then sends a control signal depending upon the power state to the charging controller. The charging controller changes the third USB port into a pure charger mode without data transfer or a normal mode with both charging and data transfer capabilities according to the control signal.
