摘要： A method of converting a grinding mill having a polygonal-section mill body (2, Fig 1) 20 into a round bodied mill 20, wherein grinding means (4), 10 are located within the mill body (2), 20, and optionally a classifier section (6) is located on top of the mill body (2), 20. The method comprising the steps of (i) removing the classifier section (6) when present, (ii) removing the mill body (20) to expose the grinding means( 4), 10, (iii) optionally, reconditioning or replacing some or all of the grinding means (4), 10, (iv) providing a round mill body 20 around the grinding means 10 and (v) optionally, locating a classifier section (6) on the round mill body 20. The polygonal section mill body (2) may be hexagonal and the round mill body 20 may be cylindrical. A rotatable port ring 22 or other suitable auxiliary part may be present to assist in the conversion and in association with throat 24 may itself comprise a number of openings to permit air to flow from beneath grinding ring 10. An access door 40 may be located in the region of the grinding means. 摘要： An anti-spiking device 2 for a drinks container 3, the device is inserted into a neck of the container, wherein the device includes a central opening 6 for the insertion of a straw 7. This device is maybe inserted in-situ in the bottle and may be covered by a cap by the manufacturers of drinks. The device may be easily removed if someone does not want to use the straw by way of a pull ring (8, fig 6). The device may have a target area such as perforated foil or a hole into which straw can be inserted. The device at top may have a hinged foil feature to pull off the top part or whole of the device. The device may hold in-situ straw (folded or part folded). It may be used to hold flavour or aroma to be released when the bottle cap is opened or straw pierces to release the flavour or aroma. Also, the device may contain a sensor (electronic or chemical) for detection of objects other then straw added into the bottle.

摘要： A pulveriser is disclosed which comprises a fan which sucks air through a pipe. A hopper receives material which is to be pulverised, the hopper having an open lower end which communicates with the pipe. Between the hopper and the fan there is a venturi. Air flows through the venturi at a speed of Mach 1 or above. Pieces of frangible material dropped into the hopper are sucked to the venturi where they are blown apart and reduced to powder.

摘要： A desalination plant is disclosed which includes a pump for pumping water at a pressure of between 50 and 65 Bar to a generally cylindrical filter element which includes a plurality of reverse osmosis membranes defining salt passages. Immediately upstream of the filter element there is a disc with a plurality of holes in it. The disc forms an obstruction which causes a pressure drop between the upstream side thereof and the downstream side. It also divides the water flow into a series of separate streams which impinge on the end of the filter element and flow into the salt passages. The water downstream of the obstruction is not only at a lower pressure than the water upstream of the obstruction but also is flowing turbulently. The disc and filter element are in a cylindrical casing. The brine which emerges from the filter element, and which is still at a substantial pressure, can be fed through a device such as a Pelton wheel to recover some of the residual energy therefrom.
