摘要： An adjustable shelving rack (10) and system for storing and maintaining a plurality of item containers within a shelving unit (100) in a stacked, vertical configuration. Each of the plurality of adjustable shelving racks (10) are selectively coupled to a horizontal traverse (114) of the shelving unit (100) at a user determined position. The item containers may then be inserted by disposing each item container on one of a plurality of supports within each shelving rack (10). By having two shelving racks (10) in close proximity to one another, each item container may be held in a suspended configuration with either side of the item container supported by a different shelving rack (10). Each shelving rack (10) is coupled to a plurality of traverses (114) through a corresponding plurality of vice assemblies (20) which are selectively actuated to grip or apply a squeezing force to each traverse (114).

摘要： A shelving system includes a plurality of pultruded vertical posts (12) and horizontal traverses (14). The horizontal traverses are coupled to the vertical posts by means of a bifurcated collar (50) that are placed on each vertical post. Each horizontal traverse includes an end piece (74) which is configured to couple to both halves of the bifurcated collar. Each half of the bifurcated collar comprises a wedge shaped design such that when a load is placed on the traverse, forces are applied to the bifurcated collar that squeezes each half of the collar together more tightly around the vertical post. The traverses may be coupled to one or both sides of the vertical post to allow the shelving system to be extended as far as the user desires in any lateral direction. The shelving system may also be extended in a perpendicular or other angular direction by means of a wedge shaped corner connector.
