    • A servo assisted power steering system for motor vehicles comprising a steering-wheel shaft (2) which is connected via a rotary slide valve (6, 7, 8) and a worm-gear spindle (4) of a steering gear (5). The rotary slide valve controls the pressure impacting on a working piston (15) in a hydraulic power boost device. A power takeoff shaft (20) of an electric motor (21) is connected with the rotary slide (7) of rotary slide valve. In case of a rotary motion of steering-wheel shaft (2), a sensor (22) so activates electric motor (21) that a small counterforce is generated upon rotary slide (7) and that force works against the rotary motion of steering-wheel shaft (2). After completion of the rotary motion of steering-wheel shaft (2), as the steering wheel is let go, rotary slide (7) is moved back all the way into its neutral position by the electric motor.

    • The invention relates to an auxiliary power steering system, especially for motor vehicles having a double acting servocylinder with two working chambers and a servopiston. A hydraulic steering limitation device has a valve that coacts with the servopiston responsive to a predetermined extent of power stroke to open a flow path from the pressurized working chamber to the tank connected working chamber to promptly stop the power stroke leaving the servopiston in position for prompt reversal of steering direction under pressure power. A stationary flow channel member extends the substantial length of the servocylinder and passes through a bore in the servopiston with which it has a sliding relationship. At a predetermined end of a power stroke, bores and a passage in the channel member communicate with the working chambers of the servocylinder to equalize the pressure at tank pressure for stopping the power stroke.

    • A rotary plug steering valve of the worm gear type for auxiliary power steering of motor vehicles is provided with a rotary plug valve and a coacting valve sleeve including means for flow passage of return hydraulic fluid to a servomotor via an inner ported sleeve disposed within the valve plug, which sleeve also serves as an alignment and bearing member for the valve plug. The advantage achieved by thus providing additional serial flow control edges between the rotary plug and a return connection via the inner sleeve is the reduction of hissing flow noises in steering operations, by a throttling of return oil flow during the relative rotation of the valve plug and the inner sleeve. This reduces the cross section of return oil flow passage, but causes no throttling in neutral position of the valve for straight ahead steering when respective passages of the valve plug and inner sleeve are in full register.
