摘要： A method and apparatus for thermal treatment of tissue by irradiating the skin with electromagnetic energy is disclosed. Sources of electromagnetic energy include radio frequency (RF) generators, lasers, and flashlamps. The apparatus includes either a positional sensor or a dosage evaluation sensor, or both types of sensors. These sensors provide feedback to a controller. The controller may control the electromagnetic source parameters, the electromagnetic source activation, and/or the sensor measurement parameters. An additional scanning delivery unit may be operably coupled to the controller or to the sensors to provide a controlled distribution of electromagnetic energy to the target region of the skin. The use of positional measurement sensors and dosage evaluation sensors permits the controller to automatically determine the proper electromagnetic source parameters including, for example, pulse timing and pulse frequency.

摘要： Embodiments of the present disclosure provides systems, devices, and methods for non-invasively modifying, maintaining, or controlling local tissue optical properties. Methods and devices of the disclosure may be used for optically clearing tissue, for example, for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes. A method of optically clearing a tissue may comprise contacting the tissue with an optical clearing device having a base, an array of pins fixed to one side of the base, a brim fixed to the base, an inlet port in the base, an exit port in the base, and a handpiece interface tab fixed to the side of the base opposite the array of pins, applying a mechanical force to the tissue, and illuminating said tissue with at least one wavelength of light through the optical clearing device. A method may further comprise controlling the temperature of the tissue illuminated.

摘要： The invention disclosed herein is directed to methods and devices for treating tissue having an overlying portion and an underlying portion by using a first fractional optical energy treatment to coagulate a plurality of zones in the overlying portion, thereby reducing the optical scattering of the overlying portion, and directing a subsequent fractional optical energy treatment through the coagulated zones to the underlying portion in order to produce an effective treatment in the underlying portion of a region of tissue. The methods and devices disclosed can further comprise detection and treatment of subsurface targets in the underlying portion of tissue. The treatment parameters used to deliver the first and subsequent treatments, including wavelength, can be optimized in order to provide a first optical treatment that effectively coagulates the overlying portion and a subsequent one or more optical treatments that effectively treat the underlying portion.

摘要： A contrast enhancing agent can be applied to the skin to enhance or enable the response of a sensor element in a dermatological handpiece for measurement of one or more positional parameters of the handpiece. The positional parameter(s) can be used as part of a feedback system that controls the treatment dosage. A bleaching agent is applied to the skin surface to reduce the visibility of the topically applied contrast enhancing agent as part of a treatment with a dermatological handpiece wherein at least one positional parameter of the handpiece is measured and used to control the treatment dosage.

摘要： Apparatus and methods for removing hair and/or devitalizing follicles using electromagnetic energy to actively target and treat a hair and/or a follicle are disclosed. The electromagnetic energy can be of a selective or non-selective wavelength. The apparatus comprises a handpiece; a detector that uses electromagnetic energy to detect the presence of a hair and/or follicle in a portion of skin, detect a position of the hair and/or follicle in a plane, and detect an angle at which the hair and/or follicle intersects the plane; a delivery element configured to receive treatment energy from a treatment energy source and deliver the treatment energy to a portion of skin; and a controller that uses feedback from the detector to control the delivery element and/or to control the treatment energy source so as to control the delivery of the treatment energy to the portion of skin via the handpiece in a manner so as to cause hair removal and/or follicular devitalization; wherein the handpiece, the detector, the delivery element and the controller are operably coupled. Optionally, the apparatus can also include an analyzer operably coupled to the handpiece, the detector, the delivery element and/or the controller.
