摘要： PURPOSE: To obtain a novel carbon-black-grafted polymer having excellent dispersibility and usable as a colorant for inks, toners, coating materials and plastic materials by incorporating a silicone component in a polymer part. CONSTITUTION: This carbon-black-grafted polymer comprises a polymer part containing a silicone component and a carbon black part and has a breakdown potential of 0.5kV/mm or above when measured in the form of a dispersion in a silicone oil. The carbon black as a starting material is desirably one having functional groups especially carboxyl groups on the surface and having a pH of below 6, and this is reacted with a polymer containing reactive groups and a silicone component to obtain the graft polymer. The polymer part is desirably one obtained by polymerizing a vinyl monomer and comprising structural units of the formula (wherein A is COO or phenylene; R is H or methyl;R is a 1-6C alkylene; R to R are each an aryl, an alkyl or the like; a is an arbitrary number; b and c are each 0-10; and d is 0-200).

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a fluid which comes to have a high shearing stress and has good dispersion stability by dispersing dielectric particles and a particulate or substantially insoluble specific additive into an electrical-insulating oil to impart a specific structural viscosity to the resulting fluid. CONSTITUTION:This fluid comprises dielectric particles as a dispersed phase and an electrical-insulating oil as a dispersion medium. It has a viscosity of 0.5Pa.s or lower as measured at 25 deg.C at a shear rate of 33sec without an electric field, and has a structural viscosity satisfying equation I (wherein eta1 and eta2 are the viscosities as measured at 25 deg.C at shear rates of 3.3sec and 33sec , respectively, without an electric field). An embodiment thereof contains dielectric particles having an average particle diameter of 1-50mum as the dispersed phase in an amount of 100 pts.wt. per 50-500 pts.wt. the dispersion medium. For the purpose of imparting dispersion stability and re-dispersibility, an additive is used which is either in the form of particles satisfying equation II (wherein XB and XA are the average particle diameters of the additive and the dispersed-phase particles, respectively) or insoluble in the insulating oil. The additive preferably has structural units containing a silicone and structural units containing a segment capable of being adsorbed onto the dispersed phase.

摘要： PURPOSE:To decrease the current density and to improve the long-term stabilities of shearing stress and current density when a large shearing stress appears upon inputting a relatively small electrical field by dispersing a specified sulfonated polymer in an insulating dispersing medium. CONSTITUTION:A sulfonated aromatic polymer having a mean particle size of 0.1-100mum and a water content of 10pts.wt. or less is prepd. by suspension- polymerizing 50.0-99.9mol% vinyl-aromatic compd. (e.g. styrene), 50,0-0.1mol% polyvinyl compd. (e.g. divinylbenzene) and optionally at most 50mol% other vinyl compd. (e.g. ethylene) at 50-100 deg.C for 2-30hr, sulfonating 100pts.wt. resulting crosslinked copolymer with 150pts.wt. or above fuming sulfuric acid at -20 to +250 deg.C and washing and drying the product. Then, 100pts.wt. particulate polymer thus obtained is dispersed in 50-500pts.wt. insulating dispersing medium (e.g. polydimethylsiloxane).
