摘要： The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for making display boxes having windows made of substantially rigid plastic material. The boxes comprise substantially rigid opaque material, such as paperboard, in combination with substantially rigid plastic material. The substantially rigid plastic material includes at least one fold line or groove which cooperates with a fold line in the opaque material when the box is set up. The present invention provides a method and apparatus for making such boxes from a supply of sheets of the opaque material and a supply of sheets of the plastic material. The method comprises the steps of supplying a sheet of opaque material with an opening, positioning a supplied sheet of plastic material into juxtaposition with the sheet of opaque material to cover the opening, adhering the plastic material to the opaque material, and forming groove lines in the plastic and opaque sheets to permit folding of the sheets along aligned groove lines.

摘要： A package comprising a consumable product and a sealed container containing the consumable product. The container is made up of a folded and sealed sheet of carton material having an opening therein defining a product-viewing window and a sheet of clear film material disposed over the opening so as to close the opening while retaining the product-viewing capability of the window . The clear film sheet has a marginal periphery disposed in lapped relation to a marginal periphery of the carton sheet and a wave energy curable adhesive between the marginal periphery of the clear film sheet and the marginal periphery of the carton sheet in a cured by wave energy condition bonding the clear film sheet over the carton sheet opening so that the bond cannot be rebounded by the cured adhesive once the bond provided by the cured adhesive between the sheets has been broken. The container is erected from a flat blank consisting of the carton sheet, the film sheet and the cured adhesive. A method and apparatus is disclosed for making the flat blank.

摘要： A device for forming a moving web of laminated composite material having window portions therein from a moving continuous web of plastic film material and a moving continuous web of paper material. The device comprises cutter means for repeatingly cutting spaced apart perforated window patterns in the paper web and a wetting means for wetting the film web at spaced apart target areas having shapes substantially identical to the perforated window patterns. The device further comprises phasing means having both a coarse mode and a fine mode of operation for providing accurate registry of the perforated window patterns and the wetted target areas. A wetting synchronization means is also described which synchronizes the wetting means with the film target areas whereby the target areas and only the target areas are wetted by the wetting means. Means for removing a paper chad portion from the perforated window patterns subsequent to lamination is also described.
