摘要： A method for producing a one-side two-layer optical recording medium that is capable of increasing production yield without modifying existing production equipment. A first disk substrate is formed on a first substrate through steps of pigment coating and sputtering, and a second disk substrate is formed on a second substrate through steps of first sputtering, pigment coating, and second sputtering. The first disk substrate and second disk substrate are bonded with the first substrate and the second substrate being on outer sides. Then, online quality examination is conducted on the obtained one-side two-layer optical recording medium.

摘要： An optical recording medium includes a first information substrate selected from one including a first substrate (1) and a read-only first recording layer (3) containing a reflective film and having information pits, and one including a first substrate with guide grooves, a first recording layer containing an organic dye, and a first reflective layer arranged in this order; and a second information substrate including a second substrate (2) with guide grooves, a second reflective layer (8), a second recording layer (7) containing an organic dye, and an inorganic protective layer (6) in this order. The first and second information substrates are bonded with the interposition of an optically transparent organic interlayer (5) so that the first and second substrates each face outward, and information recorded on the first and second recording layers is reproduced by applying light from a surface of the first substrate.

摘要： It is an object of the present invention to provide a recording and reproducing method for dye-based recordable DVD medium which performs a recording of a shortest mark by one pulse light of a highest intensity, and a recording of the second shortest and following marks by one pulse light with a pulse power less intense than the pulse power of the shortest mark and both head and tail of the pulse are high powered for a predetermined time, wherein the recording is performed on the recording layer containing an organic dye formed on a substrate having a guide groove, wherein the power of irradiated light besides the pulse light which corresponds to the mark formation is 1.2% to 22% based on the pulse power of the shortest mark, and wherein the recording linear velocity is 12m/s or more during recording of each mark.
