摘要： The invention relates to a system for use with stations for road tolls, comprising a first optical apparatus for recording images of the roadway and a second apparatus for wireless communication with a vehicle apparatus. The height above the roadway and the angle in a lateral and a vertical direction in relation to the roadway are known for the first apparatus, and the second apparatus can determine coordinates for the vehicle apparatuses in at least two directions through its communication with the vehicle apparatuses. The system comprises means for being able to detect one or more number plates from an image taken using the optical apparatus, and means for calculating the positions of the detected number plates in three directions, and means for being able to determine any associations between number plates and vehicle apparatuses by comparison between the said positions of the number plates and the said positions of the vehicle apparatuses.

摘要： A road toll system comprising a vehicle-mounted unit having a satellite navigation receiver (52) implementing a position tracking function. The system further comprises means for determining the routes taken by the vehicle based on the position tracking information and a sensor (54,56,57,58,60,61,62) for detecting a local vehicle condition which is independent of the satellite navigation signals, and which local vehicle condition is dependent on the absolute position of the vehicle or a change in the position of the vehicle. The authenticity of the position tracking information is validated using the sensor information. This system uses a satellite navigation receiver to enable infrastructure-free road tolling to be implemented. The system further provides a way of preventing a so-called fake GPS attack, i.e. providing false GPS data to reduce the road tolls payable. This is achieved by providing validation of the GPS position information by comparing with independent information collected by the vehicle.

摘要： One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for selectively collecting vehicle telemetry data from one or more vehicles. For example, a communication data budget for a vehicle may be identified (e.g., a 5 GB per month data connection plan). A determination may be made as to whether the vehicle can provide vehicle telemetry data used to model a travel condition (e.g., road imagery, temperature, a windshield wiper state, and/or other vehicle telemetry data used to model a road safety condition). If the vehicle has remaining communication data budget available for transmission of the vehicle telemetry data without the vehicle exceeding the communication data budget for a billing cycle, then a data request for the vehicle telemetry data may be sent to the vehicle. Responsive to receiving the vehicle telemetry data from the vehicle, the travel condition may be modeled (e.g., the road condition may be determined as icy).
