    • There are provided a video player for outputting a video signal which enables a monitor to easily, reliably detect that a signal is in a letterbox format and a video system having the video player. When the aspect ratio of video data is 16: 9, the video player (1) converts the video data into an NTSC signal (100) in a letterbox format, outputting the thus-converted NTSC signal. In addition, the video player adds a closed caption signal to specific lines in a vertical blanking period, and each piece of 2-byte data is set to space. A 16: 9 aspect ratio monitor (40) receives an NTSC signal distributed by a distributor; detects that the closed caption signal is added to the NTSC signal and that data about the closed caption signal is space; and displays a main video in an zooming-in manner. A 4:3 aspect ratio monitor (42) displays the main video as is.

    • The invention relates to a method and a system for assigning information contents (IN) which, during use of a conveying means (BF), in particular an aircraft, are displayed on a user-specific output unit (AE). The system comprises an on-board server (OB), by which, within a conveying means (BF), a link to the output unit (AE) can be set up, and which is assigned to a specific conveying means (BF) via a first key pair (Sg1, Sp1). A first secret key (Sg1) from the first key pair is also stored (1) on the on-board server (OB). Then, before the use of the conveying means (BF), an application (AW) is installed (2) on the output unit (AE) and a second key pair (Sg2, Sp2) is requested (3) by the application (AW), a second secret key (Sg2) being transmitted to the application (AW). Then, available information contents (IN) are displayed on the output unit (AE), and a unique code is generated (4) for each selected information content (IN). By means of the unique code, the selected information contents (IN) are then requested by the application (AW) and, in the process, the unique code is assigned (5) a third key pair (Sg3, Sp3). A third secret key (Sg3) is encrypted with the first and second public keys (Sp1, Sp2) and assigned (6) to the on-board server (OB). The selected information contents (IN), encrypted with a third public key (Sp3), are then transmitted (7) to the output unit (AE). In this way, the information contents (IN) are assigned unambiguously and economically to a user or output unit (AE), and up-to-date information contents (IN) are available during the use of the conveying means (BF).
