    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact lens barrel equipped with a ranging sensor and to provided a lens unit.
SOLUTION: An objective lens 20 and an AF sensor 21 which detects a subject distance are exposed from the front face of a lens unit 10. The AF sensor 21 is installed in a position where photographic light flux is not interrupted in the neighborhood of the objective lens 20. Also, a portion of the AF sensor 21 is arranged inside an outer shape 21a of the object lens 20. Thus, it is not necessary to increase the outer diameter of the lens unit 10 so as to secure a space in which the AF sensor 21 is arranged, and the lens unit 10 is downsized accordingly. Since a parallax between the AF sensor 21 and a photographic lens is reduced, a subject distance is accurately detected.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing device whose lens can be replaced even underwater or in a high humidity environment.
SOLUTION: Each of a body mount 16 and a lens mount 26 has three pawl parts. When a mark on the side of a camera body 12 is made to coincide with a mark on the side of the lens unit 14 and the lens unit 14 is turned, the lens unit 14 is locked on a correct position and a receiving part 27 is sealed with an O-ring 28. The end surfaces 32a of a plurality of optical fibers 32 provided on the bottom surface of the receiving part 27 come in almost close contact with the end surfaces 34a of the corresponding optical fibers 34 on the side of the lens unit 14, so that the optical communication between the camera body 12 and the lens unit 14 can be attained. When the lens unit 14 is attached/detached underwater, water enters between the optical fibers 32 and 34, however reduction in communication speed is made extremely little.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel which achieves waterproofness and ventilation alone and where a lens can be changed, even in rainy weather or the like.
SOLUTION: Vent holes 32, 50 and 56 are provided at a part of the front of an outer lens barrel 12, a part of an inner barrel 46 near an aperture part 12a and the rear end of an inner lens barrel 14 hidden by the eaves section 20a of a mount ring 20, and filters 34, 52 and 58 are attached to the vent holes. In a process where the lens barrel 11 is extended and shortened between a shortened state and an extended state, air inside the lens barrel 11 is made to go in/go out through the vent holes 32, 50 and 56 and the filters 34, 52 and 58, and adjusted so that atmospheric pressure in the lens barrel 11 is the same as outside atmospheric pressure, whereby the lens barrel is extended smoothly and shortened. Since the filters 34, 52 and 58 allow the air to pass but will not allow water or dust to pass, a waterdrop or the dust or the like is prevented from infiltrating in the lens barrel 11, even if the lens is changed or the lens barrel 11 is extended or shortened in the rain or in a construction site, and there is no possibility that lenses 22 to 25 become fogged or an electrical component, such as a CCD 30, from malfunctioning.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel with a lens hood which becomes compact, when it is not in use.
SOLUTION: A straight advance groove 22a is formed on the lens hood 22, and a guide projection 20a formed on an inner barrel 20 is engaged with the straight advance groove 22a. A projection 22b, erected on the lens hood 22, is engaged with the cam groove 24a of a cam barrel 24. A projection 14b, erected on the outer circumferential surface 14a of an inner lens barrel 14, is engaged with a cam groove 24b formed on the cam barrel 24. By pressing an outer lens barrel to the inner lens barrel side from an extended state after finishing photography, the projection 14b presses the edge of the cam groove 24b and the cam barrel 24 is rotated in a direction opposite to the direction shown by arrow α. Thus, the projection 22b, that is, the lens hood 22 is guided by the cam groove 24a to be set at a housing position from a projecting position, whereby it is housed in the outer hull of the outer lens barrel 12, and the lens barrel is shortened, at the same time.
