    • PURPOSE:To rapidly and surely search a program reserved and recorded in simple operation by instructing the program searching by the user after completion of recording the program according to stored reserving information. CONSTITUTION:A reservation circuit 1 is started for its recording operation at the time of reserved hour and also a reserved recording operation signal S1 is generated, which is then given to a reserved recording starting position storage circuit 3. At this time, a tape position information signal S2 from a tape position detecting circuit 2 is stored by the circuit 3 according to the signal S1. When a program searching instruction circuit 4 is operated by the user after completing the reserved recording, a program searching instruction signal S3 is generated, and is given to the circuit 3, a program searching starting circuit 6 and a program searching ending circuit 7. A rewinding signal S4 is given to a rewinding circuit 5 by the circuit 6 upon receipt of the signal S3 so as to start rewinding the tape. Then, upon coincidence of tape position information stored by the circuit 3 and an output of the circuit 2, the rewinding is stopped by the circuit 5. By this method, the reserved and recorded program can rapidly and surely be searched in the simple operation.

    • PURPOSE:To satisfactorily read the symbols after the light reflected regularly from the symbol surface is made incident on a detection element by resetting a peak holding level by means of the reset signals which are produced for each symbol reading action in the prescribed frequency. CONSTITUTION:A peak holding circuit 20 is connected with a reset circuit 30 which resets the peak holding level with the reset signals produced for each symbol reading action in the prescribed frequency. The output of a synchronizing signal generating circuit 40 which produces the synchronizing signal in response to the start of an electrical scanning operation of an optical image is applied to the circuit 30. Then the peak holding level of the circuit 20 is reset in response to the synchronizing signal. Thus the output signals of a detecting element increase temporarily owing to the regular reflected light and the gain of a variable gain amplifier 10 is extremely reduced. Even under such conditions, the gain of the amplifier 10 can be quickly returned to the value corresponding to the quantity of light received by the detecting element by a resetting action. As a result, the symbols can be satisfactorily read.

Since at least the processing part main body A is stored in the case 2 which can be attached to the human body in this manner, a user is prevented from having his hands full of an enclosure by a conventional handy device, and he takes goods with his one hand and brings them to the vicinity of the case 2 to read the code stuck to goods and receives the price with his other free hand. Thus, the user efficiently sells goods at a high speed when selling goods at customer's places in a train.

    • PURPOSE:To enable a protective circuit to absorb surges applied to a semiconductor laser irrespective of their frequencies by a method wherein a diode whose conduction voltage is slightly higher than the oscillation voltage of the semiconductor laser is connected. CONSTITUTION:A Zener diode 2 is connected to a semiconductor laser 1 in parallel, and the laser 1 is driven by an alternate current voltage source 3 through the intermediary of a resistor 4. As the forward breakdown voltage of the semiconductor laser 1 is a hundred volts to several hundred volts, the Zener diode 2 of low yield voltage is used to clip a voltage applied to the semiconductor laser 1, whereby the semiconductor laser 1 can be protected against breakdown. Moreover, the Zener diode 2 functions as a low impedance the same as a conventional diode against a reverse voltage to clip a reverse voltage, so that it can protect the semiconductor laser 1 against a reverse surge voltage. Even if the Zener diode 2 is connected to a drive circuit in which a direct current voltage source 3' is employed in place of the alternate current voltage source 3, the same effect can be realized. When a capacitor is inserted in parallel with a diode, a protective circuit can absorb a surge of frequency higher than the switching frequency of the diode.

Further, an optical element is so arranged that the laser light which is scattered by striking on the object is reflected by the reflecting means 4 and photodetected by a photodetecting means 5 such as a photoelectric converting element. Consequently, the optical axes of the projection and photodetection systems are aligned without using any half-mirror and the variation in photodetection efficiency with the distance to the object A is eliminated.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain clear image by synchronizing plural image sensors with the invalid reading out section of these image sensors to have a common part and synchronizing them with the lighting timing of an illumination light source. CONSTITUTION:Each image sensor 2a-2x is respectively driven by associated image sensor driving circuits 1a-1x. The reference driving circuit 1a associated with the reference image sensor 2a outputs the frame synchronizing signal B of which cycle is the longest and repeats one frame operation by resetting with the aid of it's reset signal D. The reset output terminals of the other driving circuits 1b-1x are connected with the reset output terminal of the reference driving circuit 1a. As the result, the frame synchronizing signal B of each driving circuit 1b-1x agrees with that of the reference driving circuit 1a. Therefore, as the longer cycle than that of their minimum frame synchronizing signal is given to the driving circuits 1b-1x, the time of this cycle is transferred to the invalid picture element section and it illuminates the sensor in this section.
