摘要： PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the output power and at reducing the amount of detrimental component in exhaust gas, by disposing an oxygen enriching membrane downstream of the filter element of an air-cleaner, and as well by disposing a control valve in a passage bypassing this oxygen enriching membrane. CONSTITUTION:In the exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, an oxygen enriching membrane 26 is disposed downstream of the filter element 24 of an air-cleaner 16. A bypass passage 14 bypassing this oxygen enriching membrane 26 is connected to an intake-air pipe 14. A control valve 30 which is opened and closed in accordance with the operating condition of the engine is disposed in this bypass passage 28. With this arrangement the burning characteristics are improved upon specific operation of the engine without changing the amount of fuel.

摘要： PURPOSE:To uniformly distribute a particulate-restricting agent into each cylinder and reduce consumption of the agent, by a method wherein an ejector is provided for each of cylinders, and a particulate-restricting agent is supplied only when the engine is operated at a high rotation frequency and under a high load. CONSTITUTION:When the engine rotation frequency is high, a magnetic clutch for an air pump 19 is engaged, and the air pump 19 is maintained in the operating condition so that compressed air is fed into the ejector 11. Therefore, air is ejected through an air port 14, the particulate-restricting agent is caused to flow out through an ejecting port 15 therefor by a negative pressure generated at the port 15 by the jet of air, and is supplied into a combustion chamber 5. A flow control valve 39 increases the aperture area of a passage 36 as the load is increased. When the engine rotation frequency is low, the magnetic clutch for the air pump 19 is maintained in the disengaged condition, so that compressed air is not generated, and accordingly, the supply of the particulate-restricting agent is stopped.

摘要： PURPOSE:To promote the operations of an exhaust gas processing device and an oxygen enriching device to aim at making these devices in miniature and small capacity sizes, by arranging the exhaust gas processing device in the intermediate part of the exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine, and as well by providing the oxygen enriching device in the intermediate part of an air introducing passage. CONSTITUTION:A diesel microparticles trap 2 is arranged in the intermediate part of an exhaust pipe 1. This trap 2 is operated such that a heater 4 is energized to burn microparticles when the microparticles are accumulated. Meanwhile an oxygen enriching device 15 is arranged in the intermediate part of a pipe 14 which leads air taken in through an air filter 13 is led into an air pump 12. Further, a pipe 20 is connected to the pipe 14 bypassing the oxygen enriching device 15, and is disposed therein with a flow control valve 21. A computer 8 operates an air pump 12 when it is required, and simultaneously, the valve 21 is closed to shut off the pipe 20. With this arrangement microparticles accumulated in the filter 3 is easily fired with the use of enriched oxygen air.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce smoke as well as to aim at improvements in the output of power, by installing a bypass passage, an oxygen rich film and an air pump in a suction passage of a Diesel engine, while controlling the air pump according to output of a smoke sensor. CONSTITUTION:A bypass passage 6 is installed in a suction passage of a Diesel engine 1, while an oxygen rich film and an air pump 8 are installed in this bypass passage 6. A control unit 15 inputting an output signal out of a smoke sensor 13 installed in an exhaust passage 3 drives the air pump 8 at a time when output of the smoke sensor 13 is above the specified value, and feeds the oxygen rich air run past the oxygen rich film 9 to a suction pipe 5, improving the engine output without raising the smoke content. A nitrogen rich component is eliminated from the exhaust passage 3 via a solenoid valve 12.
