摘要： PURPOSE: An injurious insect repellent, containing one or two or more of an extract of crude drug selected from Kaempferiae Rhizoma, Zedoariae Rhizoma and Amomi sao-ko fruit and thymol as active constituents, and capable of exhibiting repellent effect not only by direct application to the human body but also volatilization in space.
CONSTITUTION: An injurious insect repellent containing one or two or more selected from an extract of Kaempferiae Rhizoma, extract of Zedoariae Rhizoma and extract of Amomi sao-ko fruit, preferably an extract obtained by extracting the above-mentioned crude drugs with an organic solvent and thymol in an amount of 1W100wt%, preferably 5W50wt% based on the injurious insect repellent as active constituents. Thus, injurious insects, e.g. mosquitoes, gnats, horseflies and Stomoxys calcitrans, are prevented from coming near humans and demostic animals and from entering the inside of rooms, etc. Furthermore, the biting of the human body, etc. by the injurious insects can be prevented.

Leaves, and Melia Azedarach L. leaves together or separately, and then drying the treated leaves are used as the mosquito repelling incense coils, the leaves have remarkably more excellent effects than the dried product of the conventional Lysimachia sikokiana Miq. alone. Since the leaves and stems left after the extraction of the liquid insect repellent can be used, the inexpensive product can efficiently be achieved. Although a method for soaking the leaves in alcohol or a liquor to extract the leaves is also adopted, the method for decocting the heaves with hot water or steaming the leaves is suitable for mass-production at low costs.
