    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyfluoroalkane carboxylic acid fluoride used as a synthetic raw material of a polyfluoroalkane carboxylic acid (salt) useful as a surfactant excellent in monomer emulsificability and latex stability on using it as an emulsifying agent or a dispersant in the polymerization reaction of a fluorine-containing monomer, and as the surfactant capable of improving the micelles solubility of a fluorine-containing monomer such as vinylidene fluoride etc., on using it as the emulsifying agent or dispersant in the homopolymerization or copolymerization of vinylidene fluoride etc., and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: This polyfluoroalkane carboxylic acid fluoride expressed by the general formula: CF(CHCF)(CFCF)CFCOF [I] [M: an alkali metal, a NHgroup or H, (n): 1 to 6, (m): 1 to 4, and l: 1 or 2] is produced by performing the oxidation reaction of a terminal-iodinated polyfluoroalkane expressed by general the formula: CF(CHCF)(CFCF)I [II] with an oxidizing agent.
