摘要： Disclosed is a method and apparatus for automatic orientation correction of images stored within a digital camera. The digital camera described herein comprises an orientation selector that allows the user to select among various image orientations, such as a landscape style orientation and a portrait style orientation. In one embodiment, software resident on the digital camera responds to actuation of the orientation selector by automatically rotating the image upright and storing the rotated image in the digital camera. In another embodiment, recordable image space of the digital camera is adjusted such that the recordable image space has dimensions equal to the dimensions of the image orientation selected. In a still further embodiment, software resident on the digital camera crops the image such that the image has dimensions equal to the dimensions of the image orientation selected.

Identification signals corresponding to the respective electronic devices are outputted from the light emitters thereof to a single remote control unit. When the remote control unit detects the identification signals, the remote control unit displays on its display unit information required to selectively operate the electronic devices corresponding to the detected identification signals. The remote control unit displays only the information relative to the electronic devices disposed in the audiovisual room. The single remote control unit can control the plural electronic devices in the audiovisual room.

Ambient noise is automatically detected using a microphone and user preference parameters (e.g., volume) are adjusted, compensating for the detected noise. The remote control may be used as a telephone. When receiving a call, the caller information may be displayed using a popup window (e.g., on a television set). A call may be answered and the program may be paused/recorded/muted. The electronic device is automatically configured by identifying the user. A reader may read information on a payment card in a contactless manner. In one embodiment a radio frequency signal is used to reduce interference with LCD wavelength. The remote control may respond to a user command in order to be located.
