    • The cyclic electromechanical program control comprises an electric motor (6), a gear train (7) driven by the motor and having an impulse gear (26) and an output gear (5) which is engaged with at least one driving rack (3, 4) for an element (1) having a programmable shifting cycle, a driven gear (9) cooperative with the gear train (7) for receiving from the gear train impulses controlling the cycle of the programmable element (1), an electrical circuit (12, 13, 17, 18) associated with the driven gear (9) and adapted to transmit to the motor (6) instructions corresponding to the nature of the impulses received by the driven gear (9). The control further comprises a mechanism for causing th impulse gear (26) to deliver impulses solely in predetermined useful zones of the cycle of said programmable element (1). The gear train (7) is a differential gear train comprising a driving gear (25) without gearing down of the output gear (5). The program control only delivers driving impulses in useful zones of the cycle and with a precision much higher than that of known program controls.

    • A motor actuator for an air conditioning system comprising a driving motor and an output shaft rotated by a driving force from the driving motor. At least one moveable contact is mounted on a contact mounting member rotatable together with the output shaft. Fixed contacts are mounted on a fixed circuit board. The movable contact is in sliding contact with the fixed contacts. A hysteresis imparting device is provided for imparting a hysteresis to the rotation of the contact mounting member with respect to the rotation of the output shaft. Further, the circuit board is interposed between an output gear on the output shaft and a switch disc rotatable together with the output gear. A switch device comprised of the movable contact and the fixed contacts is mounted between the circuit board and the output gear and/or between the circuit board and the switch disc.

    • The invention is a switch for use with very high currents and relatively voltages. The contacts of the switch comprise several stationary rectangular bus bars positioned parallel to each other and one or more movable bus bars which slide along the surface formed by the stationary bus bars and conduct current from one stationary bus bar to another. Attached to each movable bus bar are several louvered contact strips which establish a large number of electrical contacts between the movable and stationary bus bars and conduct all of the current which flows between them. Electrical circuits through the switch are turned on and off by changing the positions of the movable bus bars. The positions of the movable bus bars are changed using a screw drive mechanism which is driven by an electric motor.

    • A motion oriented electrical switch which may be employed to activate an exterior warning light on the rear of an automobile to indicate when de-acceleration of the automobile occurs. The switch is in bearing contact with linkage of the accelerator pedal of the vehicle and is fitted with NC electrical contact members held together by frictional engagement with a coil spring. The switch operator rod is in frictional engagement with a slidable member that permits the operator rod to move freely in the direction which maintains the switch contacts in the open position, but the frictional engagement of the slidable member to the operator rod causes the slidable member to bear against, and close the contact points of the switch, once the operator rod moves under the force of the coiled spring in the closing direction, with the switch contacts remaining closed until direction of motion of the operator rod is reversed.

    • The invention comprises a cylindrical housing having an internal telescopic split bore for receiving a solenoidally actuated piston. The piston has an extremity spring biased and anchored and the other extremity has disposed thereon a resistive contact. The split bore is conductively coated and separated by an insulative medium. The resistive contact on said piston is disposed to engage one of said conductive contacts in response to the excitation of the solenoid to permit conduction under the control of the resistive contact. Removal of the excitation permits the piston to return to its original position under the control of the spring bias. The amplitude of make and break of contact currents is controlled by the resistive element during the initial stages of switching.

    • A direct drive and mechanical stop mechanism for a load tap changer. The direct drive utilizes a partial or mutilated driving gear from which approximately one-half of the teeth have been removed. A pair of arms are provided on the driving gear adjacent the last teeth on each side of the gear which engage pins which are mounted on an intermediate gear. The engagement of the arms with the pins insure proper meshing of the teeth on the driving gear with the teeth on the intermediate gear. A driven gear is rotated 180* by each rotation of the intermediate gear to provide a single tap change through a Geneva gearing mechanism. At the end of each tap change, the drive gear disengages and the motor control stops. To prevent overrun, should the limit switches not operate, a mechanical stop is provided on the driven gear which mechanically stops the gears in either direction when the limits of the tap changer are reached. The stop mechanism provides a plurality of freely rotating washers which are mounted on a shaft which rotates with the driven gear. Each washer is provided with a tab which interferes with the next upper tab. When all of the tabs are lined up in engagement in a spiral fashion, the uppermost tab on the uppermost washer will engage a stop which is fixed to the frame of the tap changer thereby preventing further rotation of the driven gear in that direction.

    • This amusement device enables a small child to actuate the operating lever of a toggle switch by swinging an imitation double-pole single-throw knife switch having knurled or toothed quadrant gears on the inner ends of its blades meshing with correspondingly-knurled or toothed gears rotatably mounted in a flanged casing bolted to the toggle switch. Pivoted to the peripheries of the casing-mounted gears are the lower ends of links, the upper ends of which are pivoted to a slide containing a vertical coupling slot, through which the wall switch operating lever projects. In a modification, the knife switch blades carry quadrant gears which are of approximately half the radii of the casing-mounted gears such that an approximately 180 degree swing of the knife switch blades produces an approximately 90 degree travel of the wall switch lever.
