    • An orifice (254) is disposed near the junction of a discharge tube (1) and a laser gas lead-in pipe (242). A laser gas relay pipe (244) is disposed so as to allow the laser gas to flow parallel in the same direction as or in the reverse direction to the flowing direction of laser gas in the discharge tube (1). The orifice (254) includes a portion for impeding flow of laser gas, and plural holes for passing laser gas, and at least one of the holes is deviated from the center. The total area of the holes summing up the area of the plural holes provided in the orifice (254) is at a rate of 0.5 to 0.8 to the sectional area of the discharge tube. The plural holes of the orifice (254) are nearly circular, and the diameter of each hole is smaller than the radius of the orifice.

    • The present invention is concerned with a gas laser oscillator apparatus based on gas discharge excitation having a power supply unit, rectifying means connected to the power supply unit, a smoothing capacitor connected in parallel with the rectifying means, a choke coil connected in series with the rectifying means and a laser tube connected in parallel with the smoothing capacitor and in series with the choke coil, wherein a smoothing capacitor capacitance C and an inductance L of the choke coil are determined by f>1/2.pi..sqroot.LC. Even when with this construction, the capacitance C of the smoothing capacitor is set to f>1/2.pi..sqroot.LC, a ripple of a current flowing to the laser tube can be smaller than that in the conventional apparatus and a stable laser output can be obtained.

    • A laser oscillator includes a blower for blowing laser gas to discharge tubes; a gas circulation path for connecting discharge tubes and a blower; a gear chamber pressure detector for detecting the pressure of the gear chamber disposed in the blower; and an alarm part for issuing an alarm when the pressure detected in the gear chamber pressure detector is higher than a predetermined pressure. The predetermined pressure is set based on the average value of the pressure on the laser gas inlet side and the pressure on the laser gas outlet side of the blower. This configuration can prevent the entry of the oil mist generated from the blower into the gas circulation path and an increase in the gas consumption, while maintaining stable laser output for an extended period of time without increasing the running cost.
