    • A method and system for transmitting targeted marketing opportunities to a user includes providing a primary identifier associated with a transaction account, and a secondary identifier associated with a marketing account. Received transaction information related to the transaction account is associated with the secondary identifier and stored. A user is associated with the secondary identifier. The stored transaction information is processed to generate targeted marketing opportunities for presentation to the user associated with the secondary identifier.In use, the apparatus and method may externally transfer data between a plurality of computers (e.g., between a computerized point-of-transaction unit and a transaction/marketing system). The point-of-transaction unit may extract, process, and transfer data pertaining to a user's transaction to at least one other computerized system (e.g., multiplatform marketing and research system) where the data may be analyzed to determine targeted marketing opportunities for transmission to a user or group of users, for example.

    • Disclosed is a method and system for file accessing and data transferring to secure online voting using a multilayered security system where all contents of the data may be delivered to users of varied electronic devices. The data transferring occur as an external communication between separate computers which themselves are distinguishable processing entities, such as a voter processing center, online voting station, registration station, and calling station. The system includes (i) requesting at least one voter and biometric information based on a security level; (ii) receiving the at least one voter and biometric information from the user; (iii) verifying the at least one voter and biometric information against the stored voter and biometric information; (iv) in response to acceptable verifications, sending a voting ballot; and (v) receiving and storing the voting ballot with a vote selection. The security level may depend on the type of ballot.

    • Disclosed are media based lifestyle choice recommendation systems, methods, and apparatus using multiple data transfers from numerous accessible database resources to automatically generate lifestyle choice type recommendations. These recommendations are based upon media collection and other associated information related to the user found in databases, screen scrapes or local searches of the user's computer. This information is made available by the user or formulated by the system using gathered and sorted data. One embodiment obtains data by ID3 tag conversion, fuzzy string searching, built in support to third party systems and media players with work-a-rounds or API support. Other embodiments utilize automated screen scrapes employing additional techniques, including perl scripts and software for the visually impaired. Another embodiment utilizes prior purchase information or an IP address “sniffer.” Recommendations may be presented spontaneously or upon user request, as pure data options or with a paid for sponsor integration ad model.
