    • The invention provides a component, a display part structure and a portable terminal device with which breakage of a protecting member can be prevented so as to contribute to further thickness reduction of the portable terminal device. The display part structure of a terminal device includes, in a housing, a display panel used for displaying information; a lighting unit used for irradiating the display panel from a rear face thereof; a protecting member used for protecting the display panel; and a component disposed in the vicinity of at least the protecting member, and an empty space in accordance with a shape of the component is formed in the housing in the vicinity of the protecting member and either of the display panel and the lighting unit. The component has a shape including at least one of a curved face, a bevel face and a face vertical to the protecting member.

    • According to one embodiment, a power module includes a metal base, a ceramic substrate, a semiconductor chip, a nut holder housing a nut, an electrode terminal and a casing. The ceramic substrate is connected to an upper surface of the metal base via a lower electrode. The semiconductor chip is located on a first major surface of the ceramic substrate. The electrode terminal includes a bent portion surrounding a nut holder. The electrode terminal includes a first connecting portion extending perpendicularly to the bent portion from one end of the bent portion, and being located on the first major surface via an upper electrode, and electrically connected to the semiconductor chip. A casing is bonded to the metal base to enclose the semiconductor chip and the electrode terminal. An upper end portion of the bent portion of the electrode terminal is exposed to outside of the casing through the opening.

    • There is disclosed a construction in which the shaking of a cutting carriage due to a clearance is prevented, thereby enhancing cutting precision. The cutting carriage includes at least one rotary blade for cutting a sheet, and a pair of opposed driven rotary members held respectively against obverse and reverse surfaces of a guide track member, said pair of driven rotary members being rotated in accordance with the movement of the cutting carriage along said guide track member. The cutting carriage for sheet cutting can include a pair of rotary blades which are forcibly rotated respectively by the pair of driven rotary members when these driven rotary members are rotated. Preferably, the pair of rotary blades are held in press-contact with each other at a toe-in angle. A sheet cutter of the invention includes the guide track member having a flat plate portion extending in a direction of a cutting width, and the carriage guided by this guide track member, and a moving device, such as a screw and a wire, for moving the cutting carriage. Preferably, the obverse surface of the flat plate portion serves as a surface for supporting the sheet thereon, and also serves as a travel surface for one of the pair of driven rotary members. The sheet is held between the flat plate portion and the one driven rotary member during the movement of the cutting carriage.
