摘要： Disclosed herein are methods and systems for processing signals from multiple users at an antenna array, and to provide beamforming for transmitting to those multiple users, and more particularly for channel estimation and wireless signal recovery in wireless networks carrying transmissions in the millimeter wave frequency bands to enable such beamforming. Such methods and systems enable MIMO communications at millimeter wave frequencies for multiple users communicating with a MIMO antenna system, such as a massive MIMO multi-antenna system (multi-antenna arrays that consist of hundreds of antenna elements). Such methods and systems may characterize the communications link (i.e., channel) at that frequency band, and directly provide a precoding matrix for beam steering towards a particular user that is in communication with the antenna system.

摘要： Disclosed is a system and method for using visible light communication (“VLC”) to perform indoor position location. Through use of a system and method configured as set forth herein, the position of any appropriately marked person or item may be found indoors using data interconnected modules that communicate with one another via RF and visible light. A mobile receiver in the form of a tag or badge attached to the person or item to be tracked receives a VLC signal from a plurality of lighting modules, and transmits back to a processor the data it received so that the processor is able determine the tag's or badge's physical position with respect to the individual network modules.

摘要： A system and method for automated routing of people and materials from one location to another based on automated vehicle technology are applied to bus transit, ridesharing and car sharing, and on multiple modes of delivery, including rail, water, road and air. An optimal transit algorithm uses Degree of Circuity (DOC) and Maximum Degree of Circuity (Max DOC) to refine transit network design and scheduling. Max DOC and computed shortest travel times are used to define the maximum acceptable travel time for each passenger or package. Using those maximum acceptable travel times for passengers and/or packages as constraints, optimal routings are developed for each primary transport hub, using a Simulated Annealing (SA) algorithm. The SA algorithm may be used as a basis for optimal flexible feeder bus routing, which considers relocation of buses for multiple primary transport hubs and multiple primary transport vehicles.

摘要： A content-based image retrieval (CBIR) system that is applied to blood smear images diagnoses whether sickle cell disease is present. Deep Learning (DL) based Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are designed to recognize visual patterns directly from image pixels with minimal preprocessing. Using pre-trained CNNs as a feature extractor provides an alternative to the handcrafted features that are not manually engineered from raw pixel data in general machine learning (ML) classifiers. The invention relies on extracting features from blood smear images by applying Deep Transfer Learning with three pre-trained models: ResNet-50, Inception V3, and VGG16 using Python with OpenCV and Keras libraries.
