    • A feeding tray is detachably mounted on a base member and includes a bottom portion. The bottom portion has a first side that is configured to hold a recording sheet and a second side opposite the first side. An image forming unit forms an image on the recording sheet. A feeding roller is configured to rotatingly contact the recording sheet held in the feeding tray, thereby feeding the recording sheet toward the image forming unit in a conveying direction. A roller arm has one end that rotatably supports the feeding roller and another end opposite the one end. The roller arm is configured to swing about the another end, thereby generating a pressing force for pressing the feeding roller against the recording sheet. A supporting member is provided at the second side of the bottom portion and is configured to support the bottom portion against the pressing force.

    • There is provided a sheet feeding apparatus including a first feeding member that feeds at least one of the sheets from a feeding tray; a second feeding member that feeds the sheet fed by the first feeding member; a separating member, wherein a nip portion is formed between the separating member and the second feeding member, and when two sheets are entered the nip portion, the separating member separates one of the entered sheets from the other; an adjusting unit that changes a force of the separating member; a detecting unit that detects at least one of a distance by which the other of the entered sheets is transported beyond the nip portion and an advancing speed of the other of the entered sheets at the nip portion; and a controller that controls the adjusting unit based on a detection value of the detecting unit.

    • A device for moving a sheet of media in a device or machine for handling stacks of media is provided. The device includes a roll, an arm, and a bias element. The roll may be in contact with the sheet of media. The arm may be coupled to the roll. The bias element has a first end and a second end. Either the first end of the bias element is adjustably coupled to the arm or the second end of the bias element is adjustably coupled to the body. The body supports the bias element. The first end of the bias element may be coupled to the arm and the second end may be capable of adjustably coupling with the body in at least two positions (e.g., two or more of a nominal load setting, a reduced load setting, and an increased load setting).
