摘要： Electroheating apparatus and methods utilize a dielectric structure defining a conduit course of relatively small cross-sectional area and electrode surfaces of relatively large area so that the electrical current density in a region of the conduit remote from the electrodes is substantially higher than the current density at the electrode surfaces themselves. The system uses relatively high electrical resistance and relatively high voltages to provide substantial heating effect with low total currents. Foods such as liquid egg can be pasteurized.

摘要： An electroheating apparatus to continuously treating pumpable food is made up of a number of connected electroheating cells. In one embodiment, all of the cells include a pair of concentric electrodes between which the food is pumped. The electrodes are connected to a high frequency energy source which passes current through the food to heat them based upon their own resistivity and the electrode gap. In another embodiment, two different functioning electrodes are used, connected in series, so as to provide long run times and high process temperatures.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide an ingot wherein occurrence is prevented when an electroslag remelting method is used for producing a large ingot and which a super alloy is sensitive to segragation. According to the present invention, the electrode for electroslag remelting method has a hole formed along an axial direction in the core of an electrode. Therefore, the molten pool is made shallow so that flat and segregation is prevented from occurring. Consequently, an ESR ingot of good quality is accomplished with an excellent surface and is free from segregation. Moreover, an electrode melting rate is increasing and efficiency is improved.

摘要： An electrode boiler comprising a container for containing water and electrodes within the container which serve to pass electrical current through such water and which are generally upright when the boiler is in use. Fill and drain valves are connected to the container to enable water to be fed to and drained from the container. An outlet of the container enables steam generated inside the container to pass out therefrom when the boiler is in use. A water level contact member is arranged to cause a signal to occur when the water in the container reaches a predetermined level. The boiler is provided with a store to store the value of an allowed time for water to boil away from the said predetermined level until the water is no longer in contact with the contact member. A timer is connected to time the actual time it takes for such boiling away to occur, and comparator is connected to the store and the timer to effect a comparison between the allowed time and the said actual time.
