    • An apparatus is disclosed comprising collocated primary receiver (PR) and a time synchronized receiver (TSR), with a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) configured by a LNA gain control signal to create a shared amplified signal sent to the PR and the TSR for them to concurrently receive packets. The TSR is configured to generate a timed signal strength prediction signal based on the shared amplified signal and the LNA gain control signal. The primary receiver is configured to generate the LNA gain control signal based, at least in part, on the timed signal strength prediction signal. The PR may include a spread spectrum receiver, and the TSR may include a frequency hopping receiver.

    • An apparatus comprises a video device configured to output a video image. The apparatus comprises a curved beam splitter positioned in optical alignment with the video device, wherein a convex surface of the curved beam splitter is configured to receive the video image being output from the video device. The apparatus also includes a rotationally symmetrical mirror positioned in optical alignment with the curved beam splitter such that a part of the video image from the video device is directed to the rotationally symmetrical mirror, wherein the part of the video image reflected off the rotationally symmetrical mirror produces a curved aerial image.

    • An indication of a configuration policy of a plurality of configuration policies is received at a feed adapter. The configuration policy of the plurality of configuration policies is selected based, at least in part, on the received indication of the configuration policy. The configuration policy of the plurality of configuration policies specifies a conversion rule from an input message format to an output message format using at least one conversion function of a plurality of conversion functions. The conversion rule specifies types of arguments that the at least one conversion function receives and returns.     • A data management system receives a query for data. A deadline for completing the query is supplied along with the query. The data management system determines access plans for the query and selects one of the access plans for execution to return a results set for the query. The selected access plan is selected according to an estimated ability to complete the query prior to the deadline. Further, the access plan is selected according to a lowest resource usage among the plans that can be completed the query prior to the deadline.
