摘要： The present invention comprises methods and compositions for antimicrobial silver compositions comprising silver nanoparticles. The present invention further comprises compositions for preparing silver nanoparticles comprising at least one stabilizing agent, one or more silver compounds, at least one reducing agent and a solvent. In one aspect, the stabilizing agent comprises a surfactant or a polymer. The polymer may comprise polymers such as polyacrylamides, polyurethanes, and polyamides. In one aspect, the silver compound comprises a salt comprising a silver cation and an anion. The anion may comprise saccharinate derivatives, long chain fatty acids, and alkyl dicarboxylates. The methods of the present invention comprise treating devices with the silver nanoparticle compositions, including, but not limited to, such devices as woven wound care materials, catheters, patient care devices, and collagen matrices. The present invention further comprises treatment of humans and animals wacr6ith the antimicrobial devices described herein.

摘要： The invention provides a benefit agent delivery particle having an average diameter of less than 50 micron comprising; at least one shell formed by a step-growth polymerisation reaction, preferably involving an isocyanate monomer, more preferably a urethane and/or a urea, interior said shell, at least one region formed by chain-growth polymerisation reaction (preferably a free-radical polymerisation) which does not involve an isocyanate, c) optionally, a benefit agent interior to said shell, and/or a deposition aid exterior to said shell. The invention further provides a process for the preparation of such particles wherein the shell is formed prior to the chain-growth polymerisation of the at least one region interior of the shell, preferably be forming the shell at a temperature at which the chain-growth reaction is inhibited. The invention further provides fully formulated products, preferably liquids and gels, which contain said benefit agent delivery particles and a method of treating substrates using said products.

摘要： A powder coated roving material for making structural parts is provided. The powder coated roving includes a bundle of fibers at least substantially coated with a powder coating material. The bundle is formed of a plurality of inner fibers and a plurality of outer fibers surrounding the inner fibers. The size composition maintains the fibers in a bundled orientation during processing and releases the fibers during molding. The size composition includes an epoxy resin emulsion containing at least one surfactant and a solid epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent weight from about 450 to about 950, at least one epoxy silane coupling agent, at least one non-ionic lubricant, at least one cationic lubricant, and at least one organic acid. In addition, the size composition may have an acetone solubility from about 30% to about 75%. A method of making a composite roving is also provided.

The ultrasonic vibration system is operated to impart ultrasonic energy to the textile web to facilitate the distribution of the second treatment agent through a second extent of the thickness of the web. The second extent is different than the first extent.
