    • Specifically, the present invention is a flush cartridge apparatus used in the controlled removal of accumulated debris from a water distribution system used within a residential and/or commercial structure. The flush cartridge apparatus is generally cylindrically shaped and is designed for sealed engagement within a plumbing valve housing, including pressure balance valves and mixing valves, to provide a long, sustained and complete flushing of water and debris from the water distribution system, while generally preventing water damage, and the occurrence of mold and/or mildew, within the structure. The flush cartridge apparatus can be used alone or in combination with other plumbing tools depending upon the specific need. The flush cartridge apparatus includes alignment and mating features for improved control and safety while using the apparatus.

    • A valve for a liquid dispensing system includes a casing having an interior sidewall. A hollow dispensing pin is positioned within the casing. The dispensing pin has a first end, a second end, an exterior surface, and an interior flow passage. At least one radial dispensing passage extends from the interior flow passage through to the exterior surface at the first end of the dispensing pin. A first plunger is disposed between the interior sidewall of the casing and the exterior surface of the dispensing pin. The first plunger engages both the interior surface of the casing and the exterior surface of the dispensing pin. The first plunger is movable between a closed position blocking any flow through the at least one radial dispensing passage and an open position toward the second end of the dispensing pin spaced from the at least one radial dispensing passage.

    • A slit valve for a semiconductor processing apparatus, for fluidly sealing a passage connecting two chambers of the apparatus, such as a substrate reaction chamber and a region outside the reaction chamber. The slit valve comprises an actuator plate movable within a slot in one wall of the passage, the actuator plate and the slot oriented generally transverse to the passage. The actuator plate has a first position in which the valve is open, permitting the transfer of a substrate through the passage. The actuator plate also has a second position in which the valve is closed, and in which the actuator plate fluidly seals the passage such that fluid cannot flow through the passage across the actuator plate. A protective cover is configured to prevent debris within the passage (e.g., broken wafers, shards, particulate contaminants, etc.) from flowing into the slot when the actuator plate occupies its second position. In one embodiment, the cover is pivotably secured to the first wall of the passage, proximate the slot. In another embodiment, the cover is secured to the actuator plate, proximate an end thereof. In a preferred embodiment, the cover comprises a plate.

    • An air-blow valve configured for clean-in-place capability is provided. The valve comprises a valve body defining a valve seat and internal fluid passageways. The valve further comprises valve components disposed within the valve body, including a plug, a piston, and a spring. The valve is separately operatively connected to a pressurized-air source and to a sanitizing-fluid source. In operation, the spring biases the piston, causing the plug to engage the seat, to prevent undesired fluid flow between the passageways and the connecting conduits. Alternatively, the spring biases the piston, causing the plug to disengage the seat, allowing fluid flow between the passageways and connecting conduits. Pressurized air is used to space the plug from the seat to achieve flow whenever desired, or alternatively to engage the seat to prevent fluid flow when desired. Periodic selective movement of the piston to space the plug from the seat, enables the cleaning solution to pass through the body and clean the internal passageways, the seat, and the plug, thereby rendering unnecessary disassembly of the valve and/or removal of the valve from the connecting conduits during valve cleaning.
