摘要： This invention relates to pharmacologically-active polymeric compounds; to substrates, such as implantable medical devices formed thereof or coated therewith; and to methods of using said compounds or said substrates for providing pharmacological agents released in response to in vivo activation at a desired location in a mammal. The polymeric material has a backbone comprising a pharmacologically-active fragment covalently linked through at least two functional groups within the backbone, wherein the backbone comprises, preferably, polyamide, polyurethane and/or polyurea linkages with, optionally, polyester, polycarbonate, polyether and/or polyvinyl linkages. The preferred pharmacological compounds are fluoroquinolines, particularly, ciprofloxacin. The pharmacologically-active compounds provide in vivo enhanced long term anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and/or anti-fungal activity.

摘要： A compound comprising a blend of polypropylene with the reaction of a functionalized polypropylene and polyether amine in which the polyetheramine is grafted into the functionalized polypropylene in a customary mixing apparatus is disclosed. The blend may include an elastomer such as EP rubber and/or a filler such as glass. A process for producing the reaction product of the functionalized polypropylene and the polyether amine by melting with polypropylene in a customary mixing apparatus is also disclosed. Blends of the present invention are advantageously useful to prepare paintable automotive body parts.

摘要： A process for polymerizing oxiranes, oxetanes, oxepanes, dioxolanes, trioxanes, and tetrahydrofurans to their respective polymers by contacting them with a selected metal compound is disclosed; and also a process for depolymerizing polytetrahydrofurans to monomeric tetrahydrofurans by contacting the polymer with a selected metal compound at a temperature of about 100.degree. C. to about 250.degree. C. The catalysts may be in solution or part of a heterogeneous solid, and selected organic compounds are used as accelerators in the polymerizations. The polymeric products, some of which are novel, may be used as polyether monomers for further polymerization, as by reaction with isocyanates to produce polyurethanes, and other useful polymers. Some of the polymeric products are relatively high in molecular weight and are suitable for direct use, for instance as spandex fibers.

摘要： The invention concerns a process for the production of block copolymers or aqueous dispersions and emulsions thereof, whereby azo macroinitiators are reacted with radical-polymerizable monomers or a mixture of several radical-polymerizable monomers. The azo macroinitiators are obtained by reacting simple reactive azo compounds with prepolymers with a molecular weight between 400 and 20000, which possess at least 2 functional groups, e.g. polyurethanes or polyesters. The aqueous block copolymer dispersions and emulsions produced according to the invention are suitable for use for the production of paints, adhesives etc.
