    • A connecting structure of a waveguide converter includes a circuit substrate in which a hollow waveguide that propagates a high frequency signal is formed in a pierced manner; and an antenna substrate that is layered on the circuit substrate, and in which a converter that is arranged at a connecting point with the hollow waveguide and a strip line that extends from the converter and that propagates the high frequency signal are provided. A choke circuit to shield a leak of the high frequency signal is arranged around the hollow waveguide on a surface of the circuit substrate opposing to the antenna substrate so as to surround the hollow waveguide keeping a predetermined interval from the hollow waveguide, and the circuit substrate and the antenna substrate are fixed to each other by adhesive that is arranged at a position outside the choke circuit, between the substrates.

    • In an example embodiment, an electromagnetic interface can comprise: a first component comprising a first waveguide channel, a first interface surface, and a first force transfer feature; a second component comprising a second waveguide channel, a second interface surface, and a second force transfer feature; and a fastener that can be configured to force the first force transfer feature in sliding engagement with the second force transfer feature. The first and second force transfer features can be configured to interoperate to create an indirect force holding the first interface surface in contact with the second interface surface and holding the first waveguide channel in alignment with the second waveguide channel.

    • An electronically tuneable surface. The surface comprises: a conductive sheet comprising at least one opening; and a biasing circuit. The biasing circuit comprises first and second conductors, separated from the conductive sheet by a dielectric, and arranged at mutually opposing sides of the opening such that each conductor is capacitively coupled to the conductive sheet at the respective side of the opening. The conductors define a gap between them corresponding to the opening. The biasing circuit also comprises an electrical control element bridging the gap, connected to the first and second conductors. When the element is in a first state, the surface exhibits a first frequency transmission characteristic with respect to incident electromagnetic radiation, and when the element is in a second state, the surface exhibits a second, different characteristic.
