摘要： Communication networks and methods are disclosed for performing local roaming charging in LTE/EPC networks. A visited On-line Charging System (OCS) in the LTE/EPC network receives a credit request from a network element in a visited network that has been requested to provide a service to a roaming mobile device. In response to the credit request, the visited OCS determines a local rating for the service based on a local tariff defined by the operator of the visited network. The visited OCS grants a quota of service units to the network element based on the local rating, and transmits a credit response to the network element indicating the granted quota.

摘要： A leaky repeater access node (LRAN) includes a first directional antenna and a second directional antenna to transmit and receive signals in at least one first frequency band, and a third antenna to transmit and receive signals in a second frequency band. The LRAN also includes first analog components to split a first signal received by the first directional antenna into a first portion and a second portion. The first analog components amplify the first portion and provide the amplified first portion to the second directional antenna. The first analog components also convert the second portion to the second frequency band and provide the converted second portion to the third antenna.

摘要： A method and apparatus for substantially minimizing overhead over-provisioning costs in machine configurations is disclosed. The method involves the steps of: clustering a plurality of given machine configurations into a quantity of clusters less than or equal to a pre-specified amount; determining a respective dominant provisioning machine configuration for each cluster of the quantity of clusters; and determining an overall over-provisioning resource cost associated with the respective quantity of clusters and associated respective dominant provisioning machine configurations; and assigning to a mapping function the respective associated dominant provisioning machine configuration of each respective cluster of the quantity of clusters as the target for the given machine configurations of each respective cluster of the quantity of clusters. The method for substantially minimizing overhead over-provisioning costs in machine configurations provides advantages over systems known in the art by allowing minimization of average overhead due to over-provisioning costs as well as minimizing the maximum overhead due to over-provisioning costs.

摘要： We disclose an interface device configured to inter-convert CPRI data frames and Optical Transport Units (OTUs). The interface device acquires frame synchronization by temporarily storing data in a buffer bank such that translated sync characters are placed at respective predetermined locations within the buffer bank. Each translated sync character represents, in the corresponding OTU, a respective sync character of a CPRI hyperframe. The interface device is configured to distinguish translated sync characters from payload-data words of identical value based on predetermined alignment, in the buffer bank, of data temporarily stored therein for conversion into the CPRI data format. The interface device advantageously enables multiplexing of a plurality of CPRI links and aggregation and encapsulation of the multiplexed CPRI data into a stream of OTUs for transmission to the intended destination over an Optical Transport Network.

摘要： Systems and methods are disclosed that notify end users of mobile devices of charging rate adjustments within a mobile network. A rate notification system receives bandwidth usage data for the mobile network, and identifies a region within the mobile network having a bandwidth usage that exceeds a threshold. The bandwidth usage is processed per media type (i.e., voice calls, text messages, etc) based on the bandwidth usage data. The rate notification system then identifies a mobile device located within the region, and identifies one or more contacts of the end user of the mobile device. The rate notification system then identifies an adjusted charging rate per contact per media type for this end user, and provides the adjusted charging rates to the end user of the mobile device.

摘要： A system and method are provided for securely establishing Layer-3 SVCs or SPVCs across an ATM network. An originating multiservice switch that generates the connection setup message for the Layer-3 connection includes security information within the setup message, such as a Closed User Group Interlock Code. When the destination multiservice switch receives the setup message, it extracts the embedded security information and compares it with stored security information corresponding to the connection. The correspondence may be determined from the destination user. If the embedded security information matches the stored security information, the destination multiservice switch allows the connection to be established.
