    • A method for assembling a mechanical modular unit includes storing in a controller a list of assembly parts of the unit. The method includes irreversibly transforming a sub-assembly of each functional module into a ready to use functional module, after adjustment and function checking of a particular timepiece function have been performed on a test bench. The method includes storing in a storage place components required for the assembly list. The method includes programming a manipulator controlled by the controller to look, in a pre-defined sequence peculiar to each assembly list, for each component or module to be assembled. The method includes programming a shape recognition part to operate the manipulator to pick up each functional module according to a locating part included therein, to arrange the module in an assembly position. The method includes each time, irreversibly assembling precisely arranged elements of the mechanical modular unit to each other.

    • A clock assembly containing a specialized clockwork. The clockwork contains a hub of three concentric posts upon which are mounted the second hand, minute hand, and hour hand of the clock. The post that connects to the second hand is the widest and shortest post on the hub. Consequently, when a second hand is connected to this outer-most post, the second hand can rotate under the minute hand and the hour hand closest to the clock face. By positioning the second hand post on the exterior of the hub, a 1:1 ratio can be maintained between the rotations of the clock motor and the rotations of the second hand post. This enables the full power of the motor to be transferred to the second hand post. Accordingly, the clockwork is capable of move, large, heavy, and unbalanced second hands.

    • A rotational transmission reducer having plane waving gear mechanism comprises at least a reducer unit of an input member, an output member, and a plane flexible member which lays between the input member and the output member. The reducer unit may be coaxially piled to be a multistage reducer. A typical example is a transmission of a clock or a watch, which can simplify a conventional mechanism and lower the manufacturing cost. The reducer unit functions by some salient portions on the input member pushing the flexible member, to engage a part of a ring gear furnished on the flexible member with another ring gear furnished on the output member. The output member is rotated by differential pitches of aforesaid two ring gears. For a clock or watch transmission, the ring gear on the output member is an independent member joined frictionally with a substance of the output member so that they can be slid relatively for time adjustment.
