摘要： A system is disclosed including a primary engine that provides vehicle propulsion and a secondary engine that drives a generator to provide auxiliary power. The system further includes a first exhaust gas passageway from the primary engine and a second exhaust gas passageway from the secondary engine. The system further includes an emission treatment device including an exhaust inlet to treat exhaust from the primary and secondary engines. The system further includes an exhaust routing device that selectively routes exhaust from the first passageway or the second passageway to the exhaust inlet. The exhaust routing device at least partially blocks the first passageway or the second passageway from fluid communication with the exhaust inlet.

摘要： A technique to provide fuel to a solid oxide fuel cell with low water consumption is described that includes providing an initial fuel mixture with air and hydrocarbon, and partially oxidizing the fuel mixture with a catalyst to provide a reformed fuel mixture. Also included is adding an amount of water to the reformed fuel mixture to reduce formation of elemental carbon from carbon monoxide in the reformed fuel mixture and supplying a portion of the reformed fuel mixture combined with water to an electrochemical device that produces electrical power from hydrogen in the reformed fuel mixture.

System adjustment is made based on the condition type. In one form, the system is used to provide electricity on board a vehicle such as a motor coach, ship, or the like. In other forms, the system provides electric power to a remote building that does not have access to a public power grid or the system provides back-up power in case of power grid failure or the like.

The generator provides variable AC power and the storage device provides variable DC power to the circuitry. The processor executes operating logic to provide control signals to the circuitry to operate the generator at a first speed to provide a first level of AC electricity, increase the DC power provided from the storage device to increase the AC electricity to a second level, increase operating speed of the generator from the first speed to a second speed greater than the first speed, decrease the DC power from the storage device as the operating speed of the generator increases, and limit acceleration of the operating speed to reduce perception of a speed change.

摘要： A system and method are provided for increasing efficiency of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system by recapturing water via a condensate extraction system that extracts water from a hot cathode exhaust flow of the SOFC stack. Further, the SOFC system can include a radiant heater which has a fuel inlet, an air intake, and an exhaust outlet independent and separate from the power generating components in the SOFC system. The radiant heater can bring the SOFC stack up to operating temperature quickly and/or maintain near operational mode temperatures of the SOFC stack during a hibernation mode.

The shaft is structured to rotate the toggle arm from a closed position to an open position by rotating the driving mechanism, and in the closed position, a contact pad of the toggle arm contacts the contact pad of the pivot arm. The pivot arm is maintained substantially parallel to the second connection bus.
