摘要： A shielded plug connector for use with a cable having a plurality of conductors surrounded by a shield braid has an electrically nonconductive contact support and an electrically conductive shield sleeve surrounding the contact support. Respective contact members at ends of the electrical conductors are held in the shield sleeve. An electrically conductive one-piece shield shell extends from the shield braid at an end of the cable to the contact support surrounded by the shield sleeve in electrical contact with the shield sleeve and is formed along the cable with a throughgoing slot so as to be radially compressible. A compression ring or the like compresses the shield shell inward at the slot against the cable and the shield braid thereof.

A braiding surrounding a cable may be soldered or otherwise thermally connected to the shield. Another example may provide a cable having a braiding that includes one or more types of fibers, such as aramid fibers. Another example may provide for increased manufacturability by using a wire comb and a solder bar.

摘要： A method, system and computer program product to adjust transfer rates on conductors in a multi-conductor cable comprising monitoring signals received on each conductor, determining a Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) for each conductor and adjusting a transfer rate on one or more conductors based on the corresponding SNR. In an embodiment the multi-conductor cable is a twisted pair Ethernet cable. The method further comprises determining whether a conductor is transmitting at an optimal transfer rate as a function of its SNR, calculating an optimal transfer rate for each conductor as a function of its SNR and periodically measuring a change in SNR on each conductor. If the change in SNR is greater than a predetermined threshold, then the transfer rate is re-calculated for the conductors requiring transfer rate adjustment as a function of SNR.
