    • A method is provided for controlling the transmitting power in a mobile radio system a corresponding mobile radio system is also provided. A signal emitted from a transmitter is received by a receiver via a transmission channel of the mobile radio system. The transmitted signal is evaluated and a power control information item is generated based on the result of the evaluation. The power control information item is then transmitted back to the transmitter for adjusting the transmitting power. In order to determine the power control information item, the time response of the transmission channel is estimated and the transmitting power needed in the future is deduced therefrom.

    • A method and a system for transmission of data packets between base stations and mobile stations in a mobile radio system includes transmitting each of the data packets in time frames having a fixed number of timeslots, and a mobile station transmitting data packets in a plurality of successive timeslots. In the method and system, while the mobile station is connected to a present base station, a transmitting unit of the present base station transmitting control data packets or no data packets to the mobile station during predetermined time frames while the mobile station is connected to the given base station, and respectively making available to a receiving unit of the mobile station a time interval longer than a predetermined time frame for receiving synchronization data packets and/or measuring signal levels of adjacent base stations.

    • A method for establishing telecommunications links in a switching system includes the steps of providing terminal devices and a base station having transmitting/receiving devices. The number of terminal devices is greater than the number of transmitting/receiving devices. A transmission of useful information and/or signaling information is performed between a transmitting/receiving device and a given terminal device in a first transmission cycle. The transmission between the transmitting/receiving device and the given terminal device is subsequently interrupted for a given time period. The given time period lasts as long as a transmission period of at least one transmission frequency. The transmission between the transmitting/receiving device and the given terminal device is continued in a second transmission cycle in time after the given time period has elapsed. A switching system is also provided.

    • A method and a mobile station for controlling reception of data packets in a receiving unit of a mobile station in a mobile radio system. The receiving unit can in each case be switched during predetermined time frames to receive data packets to be detected from base stations, in which case a plurality of predetermined time frames are each assigned to receive data packets from a specific base station.
