摘要： Gas-discharge tubes, such as neon lamps, are operated from a D.C. power supply which is loacted inside of an ornamental device. The supply may be a plurality of batteries or a D.C.-toD.C. converter powered by a battery. R-C circuits couple the supply to the discharge tubes to provide intermittent gas discharge in the tubes and a flashing effect. The gas-discharge tubes may be disposed within an ornamental device with the power supply, or they may be outside of the device in convenient locations and connected to the device and power supply by wires and connectors. In the latter case, the R-C circuits are contained in the bases into which the tubes are placed for operation. In one embodiment, individual batteries are disposed in the tube bases and connected in series to provide the discharge voltage. To conserve battery charge, a photoelectric circuit turns the device off during times when ambient light exceeds a predetermined intensity.

摘要： An outdoor, lighted, artificial Christmas tree decoration comprising a skeleton structure of tubular members having a vertical main support trunk and a plurality of horizontal tubular branch members radially extending outwardly from the main trunk, the trunk and the tubular branch members being detachably secured to an annular hub having included therein securing means for removably securing a plurality of downwardly depending support legs from the hub, whereby the artificial tree can be rigidly attached to a base by means of the support legs. Disposed at the upper end of the main trunk is an electrical junction box in which a plurality of downwardly-extending electrical wires are operably connected to an inlet line, the wires being removably attached at respective ends of the branch members which include clamping means fixed thereon, whereby the free ends of each wire extend horizontally to the adjacent branch member and are secured thereto. The electrical wires are provided with evenly spaced light sockets and lights which are lit when the inlet line is operably connected to a commonly used electric power source.

摘要： A decorative light strand having a power distribution modality in which a high voltage wire feeds a power wire which provides a supply voltage to light engines in an effective operational voltage range. The high voltage wire interfaces with the power wire through longitudinally distributed DC voltage regulators that step down a higher voltage to the operational voltage of a number of light engines. An equilibrium voltage is thus achieved such that all light engines are similarly powered. The decorative light elements may be light-emitting diode (LED) light engines with a chip-controlled red-green-blue (RGB) interface, which controls user perceived effects, such as on/off frequency, color, intensity, and color temperature of each light engine at any given time, thus achieving a wide variety of decorative effects. The decorative light strand includes a distribution wire and DC voltage regulator which enables long-strand lights of indiscriminate lengths for custom installations.
