    • A method and apparatus for enabling delivery of a message in a communication system comprising an IMS domain and a circuit switched domain. Upon receiving a registration message in the IMS domain from a user equipment operated by a user, wherein the message comprises an Equipment Identifier valid for the user equipment and an IMPI valid for the user, the Equipment Identifier and the IMPI are extracted from the received message. Then a creation or an update of a mapping of the Equipment Identifier to the IMPI and a C-MSISDN is initiated. Upon receiving a message, relating to the user, which is to be communicate between the IMS and circuit switched domains in the communication system, a use of the mapping for translating between the Equipment Identifier, IMPI and the C-MSISDN is initiated.

    • Techniques are disclosed for signaling a pattern of cyclic shifts and orthogonal cover codes for use by a wireless device in multi-layer transmissions. In one example method, a signal includes B bits for identifying a reference signal is received, wherein each of several available reference signals is defined by a cyclic shift and an orthogonal cover code. The B bits are used to identify the cyclic shift and orthogonal cover code according to pre-determined tables that map each value of the B bits to a pattern of cyclic shift and orthogonal cover code combinations for a multi-layer transmission scheme. The patterns for the multi-layer transmission scheme include first and second patterns based on the same cyclic shifts, but where some, but not all, of the cyclic shifts in the first pattern are associated with the same corresponding orthogonal cover codes in the second pattern.

    • A model-based technique for estimating signal impairments that can accommodate various transmitted signal configurations, including closed-loop transmit diversity signals and pre-coded MIMO signals, is disclosed. In an exemplary method, an impairment model is constructed for a received composite information signal comprising at least a first data stream transmitted from first and second antennas according to a first antenna weighting vector. The impairment model includes one or more model terms scaled by corresponding scaling parameters, wherein the model terms capture propagation channel effects and are independent of the first antenna weighting vector, and wherein the scaling parameters capture effects of the first antenna weighting vector. A parametric estimate of the impairment covariance is calculated using the impairment model.

    • An integrator (100) comprises an amplification and phase shifting element (170) with a feedback path (130) forming a loop and comprising a capacitive element (140). An input signal is summed into the loop, and the loop is arranged to oscillate at an oscillation frequency higher than the frequencies of interest in the input signal. The loop includes a filter (160) for attenuating the oscillation signal to ensure that the amplification and phase shifting element (170) can provide amplification for the input signal. The input signal is integrated and the integrated signal perturbs the zero crossings of the oscillation signal.

    • A multi-chamber conveyor type dishwasher uses a heat recovery unit (HRU) to heat water for a final rinse chamber during a preheat and/or dishwashing phase. The HRU heats water supplied by a low temperature water source using the dishwasher's hot vapor exhaust. An input supply of water for a downstream booster heater is varied based on a sensed temperature of the HRU's output water. If the temperature is acceptable, the HRU supplies input water to the booster heater for the rinse chamber. When the temperature drops below a threshold, the controller temporarily bypasses the HRU and supplies water to the booster heater from a high temperature water source. The HRU may be primed during a preheat phase using water from the high temperature water source. An amount of fan force used to pull the hot exhaust vapors through the HRU may vary based on the status of the dishwasher.

    • In a method and a device for requesting Channel Quality Indication (CQI) reports from a mobile station of a cellular radio system, the CQI reports are requested in response to a measured Block Error Rate (BLER) of transmissions from the mobile station. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention a CQI report is requested if the BLER of the mobile station is above a predetermined threshold value C. The threshold value C can be set to a value related to the BLER target. In particular the value C can be set to the same value or as a value close the BLER that is targeted to try to adapt the CQI report request to how well the base station knows the channel. It can also be set higher or lower to also consider how much CQI reporting the base station estimates can be afforded when it comes to uplink resources and uplink grant signaling in the downlink.

    • The present application discloses methods and apparatus for generating a Zadoff-Chu sequence for use by a mobile station. One embodiment discloses generating exponents oof elements of a Zadoff-Chu sequence representing a preamble for uplink synchronization of a mobile station or a mobile station reference signal by first obtaining a preamble index defining the Zadoff-Chu sequence. Then an initial exponent of the first element in the Zadoff-Chu sequence and an initial first difference between exponents of consecutive elements of the Zadoff-Chu sequence are determined. Finally the embodiment discloses determining exponents of the remaining elements in the Zadoff-Chu sequence from the initial first difference and the initial exponent in an iterative procedure that avoids multiplication operations.
