摘要： An ethylene-based polymer characterized as having a density from about 0.9 to about 0.94 grams per cubic centimeter, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) from about 8 to about 30, a melt index (I2) from about 0.1 to about 50 grams per 10 minutes, a gpcBR value greater than 1.4 as determined by a gpcBR Branching Index and a Y value less than about 2 is disclosed. This ethylene-based polymer is especially useful for blending with other polymers such as LLDPE. When converting the blends into film, especially blown film, bubble stability and output is increased.

摘要： The instant invention provides a masterbatch composition, method of producing the same, polymeric compositions suitable for films, and films made therefrom. The masterbatch composition according to the present invention comprises: (a) from 70 to 90 percent by weight of a filler comprising calcium carbonate; and (b) from 10 to 30 percent by weight of a propylene/alpha-olefin copolymer composition, wherein said propylene/alpha-olefin copolymer composition has a crystallinity in the range of from 1 percent by weight to 30 percent by weight, a heat of fusion in the range of from 2 Joules/gram to 50 Joules/gram, and a DSC melting point in the range of 25° C. to 110° C.

摘要： A method and device for unwrapping self-adhering films at reduced noise levels are disclosed. The method and device include means to maintain a sufficiently high unwrapping take-off angle during the unwrapping and dispensing or unwinding of film rollstock. Suitable means provide for substantial acceleration and adjustment of the rollstock rotational speed relative to the speed of the first power driven member of an unwrapping apparatus, or the use of one or more carefully positioned deflector members. The method and device is particularly useful in unwrapping and dispensing operations of high cling stretch wrap films involving the use of turntable-style power driven equipment as well as in unwrapping and unwinding operations of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes.

摘要： Medium modulus, polyethylene films and bags with improved tear performance are made for heavy-duty packaging applications and hot-fill uses. Film compositions contain high molecular weight linear polyethylene and linear ethylene/.alpha.-olefin interpolymer. The film is at least about 1.25 mils (31 microns) thick and is characterized as having a calculated film density in the range of about 0.923 to about 0.95 grams/cubic centimeter (g/cc) and typically has a tear strength or impact resistance at least 30 percent greater than current industrial polyethylene film. The novel film has superior dimensional stability and strength properties which allow significant down-gauging relative to industrial films used as heavy-duty overwraps, sleeves and bags.
