    • A processing service provides content publishers and other such users with automated content processing (e.g., transcoding or other). The content publisher is enabled to provide content (e.g., media files) to an input location for applying various processing to the content. Upon determining that the content has been placed into the input store, the processing service may select an appropriate workflow to be applied to the content and execute the workflow. The workflow may be selected based on various attributes of the content, the publisher, or the input store, such as the file name, embedded metadata, file size, time of day and the like. The workflow can process the content and store the resulting content into an output store or provide the content to various viewer devices. The workflow may also be customizable by the content publisher via an API or other such interface.

    • A set of transcoding techniques are described for encoding media content on the fly based on device requesting the content. A copy of media content (video or audio file) is stored at a content delivery network (CDN) point-of-presence (POP) server or some other network edge server device. When a device requests the content, the CDN POP server determines the type of device based on the information contained in the request and transcodes the content on-the-fly into the correct encoding for that particular type of device when providing the content to the device. For example, if the requesting device is recognized to be a mobile phone having a particular operating system, the edge server can transcode the media content into the format suitable to display at the mobile phone using that particular operating system. The transcoding can be performed dynamically at the time of transmitting the content to the device.

    • Disclosed are various systems, methods, and computer-readable mediums embodying programs that are configured to detect a quorum of peers in a peer to peer network. In one embodiment, a first one of a plurality of peers receives a message from one of a plurality of second ones of the peers, the message including at least one peer identifier listed in association with a corresponding at least one property value, where the peers communicate with each other on a peer to peer network. The at least one peer identifier is written in association with a corresponding at least one property value in a memory associated with the first one of the peers when the at least one peer identifier does not exist in the memory. Also, a quorum of peer identifiers existing in the memory that are associated with respective property values that match a predefined criteria are detected, and a predefined action is implemented in the first one of the peers upon detecting the quorum.

    • Network computing systems may implement data loss prevention (DLP) techniques to reduce or prevent unauthorized use or transmission of confidential information or to implement information controls mandated by statute, regulation, or industry standard. Implementations of network data transmission analysis systems and methods are disclosed that can use contextual information in a DLP policy to monitor data transmitted via the network. The contextual information may include information based on a network user's organizational structure or services or network infrastructure. Some implementations may detect bank card information in network data transmissions. Some of the systems and methods may be implemented on a virtual network overlaid on one or more intermediate physical networks that are used as a substrate network.
