摘要： Disclosed are epoxy resins exhibiting a highly favorable combination of tensile strength and elongation with respect to prior art epoxy systems. The elastomeric epoxy resin systems of the invention are prepared utilizing a curing agent containing at least one monoprimary amine, and are particularly useful in applications such as, for example, castings, potting, composites, crack sealing, coatings, adhesives, roofing materials, flooring or reinforced membranes.

摘要： Compositions and methods for forming epoxy resin systems are provided. In one embodiment, a composition is provided for an epoxy resin system including a reaction product of an epoxy resin component and a curing agent component comprising a first amine compound having the formula R1R2R3N, wherein R1 and R2 are independently an aliphatic or alicyclic organic functional group and R3 is an alkyl group, having a backbone of 2-18 carbon atoms, and a second amine compound having one or more primary or secondary amine groups, with the stoichiometic ratio of —NH bonds of the second amine compound to the epoxy groups of the epoxy resin component being from 1:20 to about 21:20. The composition may be used to form composites, such as used in commercial wind turbine blade manufacturing.

摘要： It is herein disclosed a process for stabilizing freshly prepared polyketone polymer comprising contacting the polymer with a sufficient quantity of a stabilizing agent such as an alkali metal iodide salt or an onium iodide salt of nitrogen, phosphorus, or arsenic in which the organic groups comprising the cation coordination sphere is shielded by aromatic substituents. The inventive process results in stabilized polyketone polymers having and exhibiting improved thermal oxidative stability properties. It is also disclosed a stabilized polymer composition comprising a major amount of a polyketone polymer and a minor amount of an onium iodide salt of nitrogen, phosphorus, arsenic or combination thereof in which the cation coordination sphere is shielded by aromatic substituents.

摘要： A method is provided for selectively extracting the lower molecular weight fraction of a poly(arylene sulfide) polymer by contacting the polymer with a polar organic compound and a promoter compound to form a less dense polymer-lean liquid phase and a more dense polymer-rich liquid phase, separating the polymer-lean liquid phase from the polymer-rich liquid phase, and recovering the polymer from the polymer-rich phase. Alternatively, either of the phases can be isolated and polar organic compound and optionally promoter can be added to form two new phases, followed by isolation of the new polymer-rich phase. This process can be repeated as often as desired or practicable in order to recover polymer having a desired molecular weight and/or molecular weight distribution.
