    • A control box includes a shell, a display hole, an active member, an indicating member and an interlinking member. The display hole is formed in the shell. The active member has a turn-on end and a turn-off end and is pivotally connected with the shell so as to seesaw. The indicating member is movably disposed in the shell and has a first identifiable portion and a second identifiable portion. The interlinking member is connected between the active member and the indicating member to drive the indicating member to move. Accordingly, when the active member seesaws under the effect of an external force, the indicating member is driven by the interlinking member to show the first identifiable portion or the second identifiable portion in the display hole.

    • A height-adjustable support includes a stand unit, a friction-providing assembly including a stationary member disposed stationarily on the stand unit and a movable member movable relative to and in frictional contact with the stationary member, a link assembly coupled to the movable member such that pivoting movement of the link assembly results in movement of the movable member relative to the stationary member, a mounting seat disposed on a distal end portion of the link assembly and adapted to support a load, and a biasing assembly coupled to the movable member and to the stand unit. A biasing force exerted by the biasing assembly on the movable member and a frictional force generated between the stationary member and the movable member cooperate to balance the weight of the load and position the link assembly to sustain the load at an arbitrary height.

    • Gesture recognition methods and systems are provided. First, a plurality of gesture templates are provided, wherein each gesture template defines a first gesture characteristic and a corresponding specific gesture. Then, a plurality of images is obtained, and a multi-background model is generated accordingly. At least one object image is obtained according to the multi-background model, wherein the object image includes at least an object having a plurality of edges. The included angles of any two adjacent edges of the object image are gathered as statistics to obtain a second gesture characteristic corresponding to the object image. The second gesture characteristic of the object image is compared with the first gesture characteristic of each gesture template. The specific gesture corresponding to the first gesture characteristic is obtained, when the second gesture characteristic is similar to the first gesture characteristic.
