    • Instrument chin support, and method providing a means for adjusting placement along any and all 3-dimensional axes (x, y, z). An assembled chin support can include a chin-plate shaped to provide the player with comfort; a ball joint and clamp that allow the adjustment of any or all angles in the x, y and z axes (i.e. rotation, yaw, pitch, tilt, and roll); an eccentric post that mates with a base-clamp so as to provide the player with a means to customize the height and lateral position (i.e. y and z axes) of the chin-plate; and a bracket commonly known in the art to affix the chin support to the instrument. Advantages include providing players with a chin support that players can customize to their individual body. By doing so this chin support can help alleviate most of the adverse health concerns many players struggle with while playing their instrument.

    • A method and apparatus for in-situ measurement of soluble contaminant flux rates from sediments in which an inverted desorption chamber containing a sorbent system is filled with water and placed over an area of sediment, whereby the interior of the chamber is isolated from the exterior of the chamber above the sediment. Soluble contaminants released from the sediment are sorbed onto the surface of a sorbent material disposed within a plurality of semipermeable membrane bags disposed within the chamber. Each semipermeable membrane bag is removed from the chamber in a pre-defined sequence over a period of time and the sorbent material in each bag is analyzed to determine an amount of the soluble contaminant sorbed by the sorbent material. From the results of the analyses, the mass of the soluble contaminant removed from the sediment over time can be calculated.

    • A gear box assembly as used in an inverted portal axle or transfer case includes a drive gear and at least one driven gear in meshing engagement with the drive gear at a contact point. A gear housing closely surrounds portions of an outer circumference of the drive and driven gears to form a baffle area. The gear housing includes an discharge orifice that is located near the contact point and a fluid gallery that extends from the discharge orifice to other locations within the gear housing. As the drive gear drives the driven gear, fluid is pumped into the discharge orifice and through the fluid gallery to fluid outlets positioned at desired locations to lubricate other gear box components. Radial inlets with elongated chamfers and stator vanes can be formed within the gear housing to draw air ingested during pumping away from the discharge orifice. Additionally, a bypass loop can be used to scavenge unwanted air ingested into meshing gear teeth.

    • A system (10) or method (50) for controlling remote controlled apparatus can include a remote controlled apparatus (18) and a remote controlling device (12). The remote controlling device can include a wireless transceiver (9) for controlling the remote controlled apparatus and a programmable memory (16) for storing profiles defining operation of the remote controlling device corresponding to the remote controlled apparatus. The wireless transceiver receives from the remote controlled apparatus data defining a profile or a selection signal for selecting among a plurality of stored profiles. The remote controlled apparatus can be an RC toy such as a car, boat or aircraft and the remote controlling device can be a phone or other transceiving device. The remote controlled apparatus can include a stored profile that can be modified using an exchangeable housing (26, 28 or 44) having a predefined set of mechanisms for activating switches on the remote controlled apparatus.
