摘要： Apparatus and method for detecting metal disturbance during a medical procedure has a probe having an insertion tube, a joint, and a joint sensor for sensing a position of the insertion tube. The joint sensor has first and second subassemblies as magnetic transducers. A processor is used for measuring force using the joint sensor, and a threshold field value stored therein. The processor receives and processes one or more signals output by either the first and second subassemblies responsive to a magnetic field so as to detect changes in a position of insertion tube. The processor compares the sensed field value to the threshold field value and identifies a presence of a metal object when the sensed field value is below the threshold field value.

摘要： Apparatus and method for detecting metal disturbance during a medical procedure includes a probe having an insertion tube, a joint, and a joint sensor for sensing a position of the insertion tube. The joint sensor comprises first and second subassemblies having coils. A processor is used for measuring force using the joint sensor, and having a pre-established baseline value stored therein. The processor detects changes in a position of the insertion tube by applying current to one coil and measures a signal output by a remainder of the other coils. The signal output by a remainder of the coils defines a pickup value, wherein the processor compares the pickup value to the pre-established baseline value and identifies presence of metal when the pickup value is outside of a range of the pre-established baseline value.

摘要： Ventricular tachycardia signals are induced in a living subject. Pace-mapped signals are then obtained from multiple points within the ventricle, and automatically compared numerically with the induced signals. Recognition of a high degree of cross correlation between the induced signals and one or more of the pace-mapped signals identifies arrhythmogenic foci or pathways, which may then be ablated, so that the arrhythmia becomes non-inducible.

The planar member may be inserted and secured in various compartments, including the ashtray and glove compartment. Another alternative embodiment includes a cylindrical support base which allows the cup holder to be mounted in a cigarette lighter socket.
