摘要： The present invention provides a method for setting a shift point for shifting a transmission for a powered vehicle between a first gear ratio and a second gear ratio. The method includes determining input power data points based on real-time input torque data. The input torque data includes a maximum input torque. The method also includes calculating a gear step value based on the first gear ratio and second gear ratio. The method further includes determining a first power value and computing a second power value based on the gear step value. The first power value and second power value are compared to one another and adjustments are incrementally made in the first power value speed until the difference between first and second power values meets a threshold. The shift point is therefore based on the result of comparing the first power value and the second power value and the corresponding speed associated with the first power value.

摘要： A method for controlling a transmission in a motor vehicle during acceleration from an idle condition begins when the vehicle is stationary, the engine is at idle, and the transmission is in the first gear range or ratio. When the vehicle begins to accelerate, the method includes the steps of monitoring the rate of vehicle acceleration and comparing the rate of vehicle acceleration to a rate of vehicle acceleration threshold. If the rate of vehicle acceleration is less than the acceleration threshold, then the transmission allows one of the currently engaged clutches to slip. This clutch slip reduces the torque load on the engine. The method then monitors the engine output speed. If the engine output speed exceeds an engine output speed threshold, then the clutch is fully applied.

摘要： A method for estimating transmission input torque is provided. The method includes identifying a plurality of measurable characteristics that influence transmission input torque. Thereafter, transmission input torque values are measured on a sample powertrain operating at a plurality of different combinations of the measurable characteristics. A look-up table including the measured input torque values corresponding to each combination of the measurable characteristics is established and saved onto a vehicle memory device. The vehicle is configured to monitor the status of the measurable characteristics during operation. At any given time, the vehicle can retrieve the measured transmission input torque value corresponding to the status of the monitored measurable characteristics wherein the measured transmission input torque value provides an estimate of the transmission input torque of the vehicle.
