    • A system and associated method for migrating from a first application to a second application where the second application is an alternative to the first application with respect to functionality. Overlaying a first graphical user interface (GUI) onto the second application where the first GUI corresponding to the first application. Sending to a display device a set of steps which if executed would invoke a feature utilizing a second GUI after the feature was invoked utilizing the first GUI. Removing the first GUI with respect to the feature and displaying the second GUI with respect to the feature after satisfying a condition. Finally, repeating the steps of sending to a display device and removing the first GUI for all features common to both the first application and the second application.

    • Disclosed is a method, system and a computer program for correlating an incident service ticket with an incident resource ticket. The method includes, in response to a creation of an incident service ticket in a certain service category; searching with a data processor for open incident resource tickets of the same or similar category; searching with the data processor based on a set of similarity rules for corresponding critical configuration items defined in business service configuration items and, if both searches succeed, searching with the data processor found incident resource tickets ordered by time using found critical configuration items and, if a match is found, declaring the incident service ticket to be correlated with the matching incident resource ticket. The exemplary embodiments further provide that, if both searches do not succeed, or if a match is not found, obtaining input from a dependency tree for the business service configuration items and if no related service configuration items for the service category are identified then concluding the performance of the method, otherwise searching with the data processor found incident resource tickets ordered by time using found related service configuration items. If no associated resource tickets are available then the method performs constraint adaptive probing of resources determined from the dependency tree to attempt to generate at least one corresponding resource ticket, and to search on any corresponding resource tickets that are generated for related configuration items.

A minimum of an operating characteristic function is determined by alternative advances, commencing at the starting point, parallel to an axis representing the accept boundary intercept and an axis representing the reject boundary intercept.

    • A rule set to convert an event into a standardized format can be established based on cooperation among peer processing nodes. A processing node that receives the event takes the initial responsibility to convert the event. The responsible processing node initially attempts to convert the event using locally available rules. If the initial attempt fails, the responsible processing node will communicate the event to peer processing nodes and request them to provide conversion rules. Upon receipt of the rules provided by the peer processing nodes, the responsible processing node combines the received rules with the locally available rules to generate a rule set to convert the event. The responsible processing node may also transfer the event to another processing node for the other processing node to take the responsibility to convert the event.
