    • An automatic focusing device for camera is provided which makes it possible to sequentially photograph a large number of frames while ensuring a high focusing accuracy. A first focusing unit carries out a first focusing operation. After the first focusing unit carries out the first focusing operation, a second focusing unit carries out a second focusing operation. A storage device stores a difference in results obtained by the first and second focusing operations. In sequential shooting, a controller causes the first focusing unit to correct the result of the first focusing operation according to the stored difference, and inhibits the second focusing unit from carrying out the second focusing operation.

    • A film feed apparatus detects the feed speed of a film having one perforation formed in a leader, and two perforations respectively formed at positions corresponding to the leading and trailing ends of each photographing frame. The apparatus includes a driving source for feeding the film, a sensor for detecting the passage of the perforation when the film is fed, a time measuring circuit for measuring the time between the instant at which the sensor detects the passage of the first perforation positioned at the leader (or the leading end of the photographing frame) and the instant at which the sensor detects passage of the second perforation positioned at the leading end of the photographing frame (or the next photographing frame), and an arithmetic circuit for calculating the feed speed of the film on the basis of the measurement result obtained by the time measuring circuit.

    • In an apparatus such as a camera which automatically performs film winding and rewinding by means of a motor, an automatic rewinding circuit is arranged to detect interruption of a winding action by means of a timer circuit which is set at a length of time longer than a predetermined length of winding time. Upon detection of the interruption, the automatic rewinding circuit automatically shifts the winding action to a rewinding action. The apparatus is also provided with a memory storage which mechanically memorizes the operating state of the automatic rewinding circuit or with a forced rewinding device which permits a rewinding operation irrespective of the operating state of the automatic rewinding circuit.

    • In the disclosed measuring device, a projecting arrangement projects radiation modulated at a predetermined frequency toward an object and a sensing arrangement senses the radiation reflected by and coming from the object for producing an output signal indicative of the energy intensity of the received radiation. The projecting arrangement and sensing arrangement are moved relative to each other to scan the object while a converter converts the output signal of the sensing arrangement into digital data in synchronism with the modulation of the radiation being projected by the projection arrangement. The digital data is processed each predetermined number of cycles for producing an electrical output related to the change in energy intensity of the reflected radiation.
