摘要： A method and apparatus are provided for performing a channel decoding operation based on effective noise in a mobile communication system. The method includes detecting effective noise including additive noise that occurs in a channel environment between the signal receiving apparatus and a signal transmitting apparatus and channel estimation noise that occurs during a channel estimating operation the signal receiving apparatus; generating a log likelihood ratio (LLR) based on the detected effective noise; and performing channel decoding based on the generated LLR.

The apparatus includes a searcher for determining a Doppler shift value representing the estimated velocity of the mobile station by using a channel impulse response of a preamble signal received at a regular interval of time, a detector for determining a reference Doppler value for compensating the Doppler shift value by using correlation ratios between channel values of symbols to which data for the mobile station are allocated according to subcarriers in a data allocation field of a frame including the preamble signal, and a compensator for determining a compensated Doppler shift value by using the reference Doppler value to compensate the Doppler shift value for a folding value, wherein the folding value represents a difference between the estimated velocity and a true velocity of the mobile station.

The apparatus includes a seed information generator and a subcarrier allocator. The seed information generator randomly generates a seed value for changing a channel of a subcarrier and an interference pattern in a frame unit when a HARQ combining gain is not generated because an interference pattern is the same during a retransmission period. The subcarrier allocator allocates a subcarrier using the generated seed value.

A carrier to interference and noise ratio (CINR) estimator estimates a CINR value of a received signal, and a controller generates a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) level candidate set satisfying the estimated CINR value and a target packet error rate (PER) based on a look-up table. A decoder switch determines if an MCS level of a burst is included in the MCS level candidate set when the burst having no connection identifier (CID) information exists in a corresponding frame, and determines to decode the corresponding burst if the MCS level of the burst is included in the MCS level candidate set and to discard the burst otherwise.

A controller selects one of the plurality of channel estimation types according to at least one of a type of a pilot signal and a reliability value of a channel parameter. An N-tap filter, including N multipliers and (N−1) adders, determines channel estimation values of data tones by using the coefficient sets for the selected channel estimation type.

摘要： An apparatus and method for canceling an interference signal in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. A receiver of a wireless communication system includes at least two receive antennas for receiving a target signal of a serving base station and interference signals of at least one neighbor base station; a channel estimator for estimating channels of the signals received through the receive antennas; and a detector for detecting the target signal using channel estimation values of the received signals. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce error propagation caused by the incorrect estimation and detection of the interference signal. In addition, time delay for detecting/restoring/removing the interference signal does not occur. Moreover, the increase of additional buffers can be prevented. Consequently, the increase of hardware complexity can be prevented.

摘要： Disclosed is an apparatus and method for estimating a start point of a frame in a wireless communication system. The method includes the steps of receiving a frame and estimating the start of the frame by searching for an interval or point of time during or at which a correlation between preambles is at its maximum. At this time, to in order to estimate the start of the frame, a cyclic prefix is used. Thus, a correlation between a cyclic prefix and the last interval of a symbol, which is the same as the cyclic prefix, is calculated and an interval or point of time having the maximum correlation is estimated as the start point of the cyclic prefix. Therefore, the start point of the frame can be accurately estimated based on the start point of the cyclic prefix.

摘要： A resource allocation method in a multiuser-multiple-input multiple-output/orthogonal frequency division multiple access (MIMO/OFDMA) system. In the multiuser-MIMO/OFDMA system feedback information is received from terminals. A channel gain and a transmission rate for each user are determined using the feedback information. An average channel gain for each user is computed according to the channel gain. The average number of bits for each user is determined according to the average channel gain. The number of subchannels for each user is computed according to the average number of bits for each user. At least one subchannel is allocated to each user according to the number of subchannels for each user. A modulation scheme for each of the at least one subchannel is determined. The resource allocation method adaptively allocates subchannels and bits according to channel environment, thereby considerably improving frequency use efficiency as well as a power gain.
