摘要： A security container comprises two halves which can be slid together longitudinally to close the container and locked in the longitudinally closed position. Each half comprises a channel member and an associated end cap which is of a size to cover the whole of the end of the container. Edges of the side panels of each channel member include u-shape formations to that the two halves interlock for a longitudinal movement. A money compartment is defined in the bottom of the rear half by a transverse plate parallel to the lower end cap. A drawer is mounted in the compartment and can be locked by rotating a threaded rod into engagement with a nut welded on the rear face of the rear channel member. A locking mechanism for the above container includes a protective cover including two plates covering the front face of the lock barrel with four balls between the plates allowing a key to pan between the balls into the lock but resisting a punch force to the front of the lock.

摘要： A hose arrangement for use in a car wash of the type which provides a hose with a spray nozzle on the end and means for mounting the hose for rotation around a central pivot point including a boom which extends away from the pivot point and rotates around the pivot point. The boom is formed of a pair of flexible wires arranged on either side of the central pivot and each having coils at a position intermediate the length so as to allow the wire to flex downwardly out of the horizontal plane when the hose is pulled. The central pivot can be arranged to pivot about an axis at a small angle to the vertical whereby the boom has a lowermost position at one point in its rotation to which it tends to rotate.

摘要： A swivel coupling for high pressure fluid of the type providing an axle through which fluid can pass to a rotary connector. The swivel coupling includes first and second mechanical bearings spaced apart and mounted along the axle, wherein each mechanical bearing has an inner and an outer bearing member. The inner bearing members are attached to the axle while a mounting member attaches to the outer bearings so that the bearings provide radial and axial support between the axle and the mounting member while allowing relative rotation between them. A fluid opening on the axle between the mechanical bearings communicates with the rotary connector. The rotary connector is supported by a pair of swivel bushings wherein each swivel bushing is mounted on an opposing end of the rotary connector for locating it between the mechanical bearings. High pressure seals are fitted into upper and lower annular recesses located on the axle in respective positions above and below the fluid opening for sealing the connector.

摘要： A wooden structural member for use as a stud in the wall of a building is formed from two strips of wood separated simply by elongate pins at right angles to the length of the strips. Each pin has pointed ends which are punctured into the wood of the strips to provide a frictional engagement therewith. After formation of the structural element, it is formed into the wall of a building and services can be threaded through the space between the strips following which insulation material is applied between each stud and the next and in between the strips thus increasing the insulation value of the wall, reducing the amount of lumber required and simplifying construction.

摘要： A boom for the supply hose of a fluid used in a car wash is rotatable around a vertical axis in a horizontal plane. Flexibilty of the boom out of the horizontal plane is provided by a spring wire having a loop turned through more than 360.degree. partway along the length of the wire with a leveller device engaging upper edges of inner and outer portions of the wire on either side of the loop and an underside of the inner turns of the loop so as to hold down the outer portion of the wire and locate the boom in the required horizontal plane. Rotation in one embodiment is provided by a vertical portion at the inner end of the wire mounted within a suitable bearing and provided with a coil spring acting to bias the boom to a required angular orientation around the vertical portion of the wire. In a second embodiment for use with 360.degree. rotation of the boom there is provided a locating device comprising a heart-shaped cam and a spring biased roller which acts to bias the cam and thus the rotatable hub to the cusp of the heart-shape.
