    • In a position authentication system and electronic equipment used for the same, image data photographed by a digital camera 1 are written into storage device 3, and at the same time GPS electric wave 5 is received by GPS receiver 2 to generate latitude/longitude information. The GPS receiver 2 encrypts the latitude/longitude information, and transmits this information as position information to center system 4. The storage device 3 stores copy-guarded place-specifying data transmitted from the center system 4. The center system 4 decodes the position information 6 input from the digital camera 1, and specifies the place on the basis of the latitude/longitude information thus obtained to generate place-specifying data. The place-specifying data thus generated are subjected to copy guard-processing and then transmitted to the digital camera 1. Accordingly, it is guaranteed that the image data stored in the storage device 3 was photographed at the place indicated by the place-specifying data and the image data was not photographed at another place.

    • A portable computer system is provided, which makes it possible to increase the area for an auxiliary device such as a visual indicator and a speaker and to adjust the location and attitude of the auxiliary device with respect to a computer body. This computer system is comprised of a computer body having a first pivot axis, and a display subsystem pivotable connected to the body around the first pivot axis. The display subsystem includes first and second units, one of which is provided with an auxiliary device and the other of which is provided with a display device. The second unit is pivotably connected to the body around the first pivot axis and capable of being held at a desired first pivot angle with respect to the body. The first unit is pivotably connected to the second unit around a second pivot axis and capable of being held at a desired second pivot angle with respect to the second unit. The first pivot axis is located at or near a rear end of the computer body or at a position shifted forward therefrom, and extends along the same rear end. The second pivot axis may be parallel or perpendicular to the first pivot axis.

    • Disclosed is a road-to-vehicle communication system to provide highly reliable road-to-vehicle communication services by use of a vehicle's car navigation system. The roadmap information for the car navigation system contains information to indicate if an area is a road-to-vehicle communication possible area, and information relating to the communication system of road-to-vehicle communication. When the car navigation system detects that the vehicle approaches the road-to-vehicle communication possible area by a predetermined distance, a vehicle system acquires the communication system of the roadside communication equipment from the roadmap information. And the road-to-vehicle communication equipment is set to the stand-by state of the acquired communication system. When the road-to-vehicle communication equipment receive radio wave from the roadside communication equipment, the road-to-vehicle communication equipment is released from the stand-by state and receives from the roadside communication equipment warning information to prevent the vehicle from possible traffic accident.
