摘要： There is provided an information processing device which is capable of providing a program selected on the basis of a predetermined theme among recorded programs and programs to be received to a user. A special program is generated by selecting a predetermined program on the basis of a predetermined theme such as ‘person of the today’, ‘hot drama’, or the like among recorded programs and programs to be received to a user and the contents of the selected program is displayed on a screen as information of a recommendation program. The contents of the special program are changed according to preference of the user, a displaying time of the screen, and setting by the user. The invention can be applied to an information processing device which records a program or plays the recorded program.

When contents information of broadcast contents corresponding to reservation contents information transmitted from a broadcast receiving and recording apparatus 3-1 is found in the change information database 12, the server 2 transmits change information to the broadcast receiving and recording apparatus 3-1. The invention can be applied to a system which provides contents information through the Internet.

The system selects similar users whose program view history is similar to that of a recommended user, maps the program view history in a collaborative filtering matrix registers, in the collaborative filtering matrix, a virtual user whose program view history includes a group of hit programs obtained based on a search condition served for realizing a predetermined search topic. The system also counts the numbers of reservations or views achieved by each user according to program content based on the program view history, in the collaborative filtering matrix, which counted numbers are set as matching numbers, and outputs a search result representing a recommendation list of the contents arrayed in the descending order of matching number.

摘要： Information about each of broadcast programs is subdivided into multiple items including program attributes and the other program association schemes for management. To each item, a relevance ratio with respect to a program is assigned. For example, the next broadcast schedule has the highest relevance ratio with respect to the program, the relevance ratio with respect to the program is high in order of cast, titles, and genre, and so on. Then, a database search is done for programs related to the base program for each item, the search results are arranged in order of decreasing relevance ratio with respect to the base program, and a base program related information page is created. Without deadening a user's interest inspired by watching a program, information related to the program being watched is given, and a user can be guided smoothly to the next preselected recording operation.

摘要： The present invention concerns an information processing apparatus, a method thereof, and a program for allowing the audience to easily search for intended television programs. A server stores characteristic words extracted from television program information in a characteristic word file 103. The server also stores the extracted characteristic words associated with IDs for identifying television programs in an association file 102. When the audience selects a characteristic word as an interested word from the characteristic word file 103, the server reads the ID of a television program corresponding to the selected characteristic word from the association file 102. The server reads television program information corresponding to the read ID from a television program information file 101. The server then provides the read television program information to the audience. The present invention can be applied to a recording/reproducing apparatus and a television receiver to provide intended television programs.
