摘要： A chimeric non-human animal having an in vivo human hepatocyte population, wherein the effects of non-human animal cells on drug metabolism are suppressed or deleted is provided. A method for producing a chimeric non-human animal that lacks a drug-metabolizing system or has a suppressed drug-metabolizing system and is provided with a drug-metabolizing system driven by human hepatocytes, is provided. The method comprises transplanting human hepatocytes into a non-human animal characterized by (i) being immunodeficient, (ii) having liver damage, and (iii) lacking the functions of an endogenous Cyp3a gene.

摘要： An image forming apparatus which can avert wasteful processing of disconnection from and reconnection to the same host when a currently-connected host and a host that should be connected next are the same. When a print request is received from one of a plurality of hosts, host information indicative of the host is registered so that an order of print requests can be identified. Connection and disconnection to and from the hosts are carried out according to the host information. Printing is carried out based on print data received from the hosts. When a host as a source of a print request received next after a print request from a currently-connected host is the same as the currently-connected host, print data is received from the currently-connected host, and then print data corresponding to the next print request is received from the currently-connected host without disconnecting from the currently-connected host.

摘要： An image forming apparatus which is capable of achieving both enhanced userfriendliness and improved energy saving efficiency without being released from a reduced power consumption state by a user who has no will to use the same passing thereby. When a copying machine 200 is in a sleep mode, it is detected whether or not a user has come near to the copying machine 200. Reading of data from the contactless IC 600 is started, and user authentication is executed based on the data. When an original document has been set on the automatic feeder 800, the copying machine 200 is caused to return to a normal mode as a normal power consumption state from the sleep mode.
