    • A method, system, computer program product, and process for data mining within a message handling system in a computer system. The message handling system includes a message broker and queues. The message broker implements the method. An executing data mining algorithm operates upon a data mining model that depends on model parameters and on data values for independent variables published to the queues by at least one publisher. The data mining algorithm utilizes the model parameters and data values to generate at least one score. A decision algorithm applies at least one rule to the at least one score to generate at least one decision. The at least one score and/or at least one decision is published in a result queue. The at least one result is transmitted to at least one subscriber.

    • A system, method and program product for processing a stream of data events using scaled exponential smoothing for maintaining a histogram. A system is provided having: a set of histogram data that maintains a running value for each of a plurality of buckets; a bucket identification system for identifying a bucket b into which a new data event value belongs; an exponential smoothing system that applies a decay factor to the set of histogram data utilizing a first algorithm for the running value associated with bucket b, and a second algorithm for each remaining running value; and an analysis system for analyzing data event values in view of the histogram data.

    • A method is disclosed for installing and retaining a conductor between a surface terminal and a subsurface location in a drill string used to drill a well. One end of the conductor is lowered into the drill string and is anchored to the drill string of a subsurface location. The upper end of the conductor is taken in from the surface until the conductor is tensioned to a selected amount. The upper end of the conductor is then connected to the surface terminal. As each drill pipe section is added to the drill string to advance the depth of the well, the tension of the conductor is controlled to reduce fatigue failure of the conductor. In one embodiment of the invention, the tension of the conductor is controlled by connecting a conductor section of a selected length between the surface terminal and the upper end of the conductor.

A system is provided for processing a stream of data events occurring over irregular time periods, including: a system for updating a running estimate each time a new data event is detected, wherein the running estimate is calculated based on a value associated with the new data event, an amount of time that elapsed since a previous data event was detected, and a previously calculated running estimate; and an analysis system that analyzes the running estimate after it is updated to identify a suspect data event value.
